Thanks for your time, It was informative , use full and provided me with great information for my fall seed planting and over seeding, I think your right the Kentucky blue is nice. I prefer the Scott's mix as it looks greener . Thanks again

How did your seeding go? Hopefully well before summer heat!
@adayinthelifeofme59404 жыл бұрын
@@JealousLawnCare so far so good. I got the third mow in before the 90+ degree heat. The side that I did not over seed is looking a bit thin and drys out fast. The over seeded side so far looks a lot more healthy. It is going to be a rough summer if the heat is already often in the mid 90's. I hope the grass makes it. Any idea how long I need to wait to keep the dogs off of the grass? This area was all dirt and the reason I wanted to seed it was because their paws were always muddy. When will the grass be able to handle light animal traffic?

Fantastic lawn, thanks for your follow up after a year. Most videos never show the end results so thank you very much ! . You have zero weeds in your lawn, is that because of the density of the grass or because weed killers ?
@JealousLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome and thanks for the kind words! Density of the grass definitely helps a lot (aeration / seeding annually in fall), to prevent weeds due to competition with mature thick grass. I also use weed and feed, and it's been working well year after year.

Hi I have a question if my lawn was just seeded a little less then a month ago and it looks patchy what kind of process should be done. Top soil seeds and rake through and cont the water sched ?
@JealousLawnCare3 жыл бұрын
I would rake up as much as possible to get the ground fluffy, then seed, then put a thin layer of dirt, light seed on top again. Cant fail with this method!
@noellesillart53293 жыл бұрын
@@JealousLawnCare raking obviously lightly would not hurt all the new grass germination I just got right. Also what do you think of the product from scotts EZ grass by scotts. Thanks again for the quick reply much appreciated 😁
@JealousLawnCare3 жыл бұрын
Ez seed does grow quite well since it has all the mulch / soil mixture in it already. However due to this being not only seed it may not fill in as well as just seed from what I've seen

I want a nice lawn but I live in PA where summer can reach high 90's and winter usually like 30's what should I go with KBG or TTF
@JealousLawnCare3 жыл бұрын
Kbg is a great choice, and will go dormant in winter or summer during droughts / extreme cold. Definitely the best looking choice I'd say.

Thank you for taking the time for these tests, great info...what seed is your main lawn?
@JealousLawnCare5 жыл бұрын
Troy Chaudoir -- my front is mainly Kentucky bluegrass and my backyard was a mix, but slowly each year it's becoming more and more kbg with every aeration and overseeding. Heh

Thanks for the update ! My problem ....Transition Zone 6b ,full hot Sun for 6+ hrs ,they recommend up here either tall fescue ( always gets burned 70%) or Bermuda ( ends up getting pretty damaged when we have a long freeze) are these really my only 2 options? thanks
@JealousLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a tough area you are in, have you tried Ryegrass or Creeping Red Fescue (handles drought well)? I assume you don't water and are fine with lawn going dormant in summer heat right?

@@JealousLawnCare No I do water but I can't spend my whole paycheck on the water bill lol. I just want see green but brown. I might just go with a clover lawn

Great results, great video with let's of infor. On a side note. If I may ask. I sprayed my lawn with liquid fungus control, how long should I wait til I apply fertilizer? Thank you JLC
@JealousLawnCare5 жыл бұрын
Jose Martinez -- if you are using an organic fertilizer, no need to wait at all, Milorganite can be used with basically any other products. Otherwise if not, is recommend checking the fungus control and fertilizer bag for any restrictions. Cant imagine there would be any issues with this though.

I like the Scotts KBG, I would go with the normal rate I assume. Not to heavy not to light after looking at your videos last year and seeing the results in the last two plots. It looks like the grass only takes up the space it needs. Have a good one brother. "Currahee!" - Joel

Hey, I have an irrigation system, and when the sprinkler water it miss some place like the corner of the lawn, it that ok? Will the grass going to die?
@JealousLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
Typically you only HAVE to water during drought periods of no rain (roughly 1.5-2 weeks). It will just be more brown than the watered spots. Especially if you have Kentucky bluegrass, it will just go dormant which is fine during summer.

Hi great video. Can you do a test of the water saving crystals gel u can add to soil. It ment to absorb water and slowly release it when there is weird weather climate like uk.

Thick heavy handed KBG vs thin scarce KBG application - you said there is no difference between the two after 1 year. So you didn't even see more die off or fungus in the heavy handed compared to scarce? So there is no benefit to either approach except saving money with the scarce application, I suppose?
@JealousLawnCare4 жыл бұрын
The heavy handed seeding did start up thicker, but over the year the light handed seeding did catch up due to the kbg spreading factor. So either way you can't go wrong!
@ZupE8912 жыл бұрын
Why you cutting high when you have nice thick grass?
@JealousLawnCare2 жыл бұрын
The higher the better for: 1. Shading the roots from heat 2. Prevents weeds even further 3. Lawn Stripes look even better 😉

Hey Mike I was wondering I put down some milorganite on my lawn but I have brown spots everywhere. I put the milorganite the binging of September I'm also in Illinois.
@marcomeraz17915 жыл бұрын
I guess my question is what could it be I saw ur video on brown spots but mine look a lil worst then that
@JealousLawnCare5 жыл бұрын
MARCO MERAZ -- it could be either drought (early summer was dry here), poa annua spots dying out, or lawn fungus. These are all possibilities for brown spots at this time of the year. Any of these a possibility? Milorganite won't help these types of brown spot patches, only help the overall color/nutrition of the lawn.

Thanks for the reply. And keep up the videos great job.
