Raf, thank you very much! This was a video I didn’t know that I needed to see. Would love to see you do a follow up video on how you apply folds to items such as chainmail, elephant skin, scales, crushed metal and other non-fabric materials as well as other strategies for creating folds and fabric pleats. Some other things I would like to learn about are making glass and transparent surfaces as well as re-creating refractions, reflections and transmitting light from a light bulb in zbrush. Examples that would include decorative glass, sunglasses, visors and re-creating actual light bulbs, such as incandescent, fluorescent and LED light bulbs. Maybe something on realistic feathers?... Beyond that I would say surprise us with something that needs to be covered that isn’t being shown in other videos online whatever else you think would be cool. Stay awesome!

The trick about folds is to try and add more shape to each fold in the compression area, try to make each fold different don't make them all the same, try to combine folds in different ways, and always use reference, there is always more shape in each fold than doing a simple stroke, for example one side of the fold might be flat and the other side might be like a tube shape,, things like these will make the folds look more believable. Keep in mind material type, what's happening in the fabric, where are the contact point, where it the material compressing and where is it stretching, is the character moving, areas where the seams are will be harder and will modify the folds slightly.

Já notei um problema quando faço as dobras do tecido. Tenho problema por causa da setagem da pressao da caneta sobre o tablet. Fica meio embolado certas partes das dobras. Isso e a parte de controlar a pressao da dobra. Nao consegui ajustar pra reduzir o tamanho do clay conforme a pressao que faço no tablet. Mexi nas configurações e não percebi diferença!? Ótimas dicas nesse video! Sucesso aí, bro!

Um, you need to first explain the relevance of knowing good anatomy first. As that is the key wether you need to follow through with strong or subtle folds. Also how very different materials effectively change the character of how folds are.

Quit buying Instagram Followers! It hurts your engagement ratio, big time!
