These grasshopper plagues were referenced by Laura Ingalls Wilder in her book," By the Banks of Plum Creek."

We just meticulously fry them and serve them with a variety of appropriate dipping sauces. They are what used to be an epidemic plague in Thailand but now there is a shortage of locusts.

Thank GOD those locust are extinct. Farmers have enough troubles without them.

I read about her life in many books and her daughter Rose, who helped write the Little House books, was always complaining about poor people relying on the US govt too much and they just needed to be indepentant and tough. She was a hypocrite since the Ingalls family got help from the govt during the grasshopper plague, as well as tuition for Mary to go to blind school.
