I just figure that there has to be alternative, better ways to releasing knots and treating muscles on intense-workout-bodies without leaving gashes on their skin. You don't seem to undertand what the red scars are. Its not broken skin on the surface. It's petechiae. A histamine reaction cause by burst blood vesells. Totally harmless, goes away in a few days. It's more like a super deep tissue massage.
