My friend and I hitchhiked from upstate NY to this show and to the following show in Chicago. It was well worth every frostbitten extremity. Great shows ! Thanks for this. This was an incredibly hot show!

We did the same from Buffalo. It was cold. I left my gloves in the back seat of this girls car. She actually drove back to find us an hour later in the parking garage. What a sweetheart. Chicago was the next night. Life was good back then !

I love that bird song so much. It always amazes me that the Grateful dead's music never ages. It's one of the only languages that makes as much sense decades later as it did the first time knowing how different 1981 is from now it's mind-boggling that it's just as fresh and relevant today as it was then. We are so lucky to be living at a time with the Grateful Dead music.

Thank you GnuT. I’m only subscribing and liking for the fabulous visuals. An the excellent sound quality. And the perfect show selection. And my new Stella Blue favorite. I thought nothing could top Long Beach, 14 December 1980 but… thank you again.

This was a nice little five show run in the Midwest- caught four of them. (seven show run if you include Pittsburgh and Dayton) Weather was a bit testy, cold and snowy. Had to add some extra carpet on the floor of the ‘64 Impala to cover the floorboard holes. Each of the four shows I saw were very strong. This was the first US tour after returning from Europe

Greyhounded a good bit. Fun times😅 once heading to South Carolina from NYC laid over in Fayetteville North Carolina, 2 sweet old ladies realized they'd been on the wrong bus. They were headed to Fayetteville Arkansas. I just look it up, it's about a thousand miles off. 😂

Always like a leadoff vocal flub as it seems to lead to the guitars getting raunchy for a stretch right after.

Yep, when Jerry messed up the vocals he dug into his guitar parts and literally scorched any confusion as to what was going on!
