Personally I think there is a fair bit the left could learn from the counter culture, if they could let themselves relax for five minutes, I've spent time with hippies and political radicals and they had a lot in common , they can be complimentary, personal growth and responsibility are necessary as is politics

The left can be a bit threatened by psychedelics but I think psychedelics can be extremely empowering, politics burns a lot of people out it's very frustrating at times, psychedelics can show you the bigger picture, you need to integrate the experience, and take it's power seriously

if they could of ditched Whats Become of the Baby on Aoxomoxoa and filled all that nonsense up with some good stuff...would of been a much better album. The cover art from Griffin was jaw dropping. Then you played the album and was like WTF is this crap? The cover art deserved much better material musically speaking. Aox had just a couple good ones. China Cat..St.Stephen. ..Cosmic Charlie maybe and Mountains of the Moon. And thats MAYBE. Basically a horrible album. Thankfully they gave us Live Dead Workingmans and American Beauty shortly after.

Horrible is a bit harsh. The studio treatment they give Mountains Of the Moon with the harpsichord etc make it among the most beautiful and well crafted studio tracks they ever laid down. Beauty and Workingmans are full of grate songs, but I rarely listen to them as albums. The material matured onstage far beyomd the crude studio versions. In fact, I have a mashup I made of Live Dead and Aoxomoxoa, it gets much much more airplay at my house than AB and WD combined. To each their own tho...
