The Eleven is my hands-down absolute favourite Dead song.

This is one of the greatest videos in KZbin.

The fact that this channel only has this video is equally impressing. It's like you just appeared out of nowhere to send us this beauty and disappeared right after. Hope you get back someday

60s Grateful Dead were so mind blowing . Thank you for posting this, my favorite performance from the Live Album. That transition to Turn On Your Lovelight is out of this world

Yeah. The version from Live Dead really is the definitive version of The Eleven.

If you can have 2 drummers, why not 2 Jerrys? Just excellent - I'm blown away. That's been my favorite Garcia lick since 1969. Thanks, good job

2 Jerrys could never exist… Sure, a proficient guitarist can learn to play like Jerry, but keep in mind that Jerry (and the rest of the band) are nothing short of improvisational MONSTERS! JG had such a unique approach to his playing and because it’s 80-90% on the fly and “without a net” I’m not sure will see another JG within the century. He was undoubtedly a once in a lifetime talent! I know you were just being playful with your comment, I just had to toss in my 2 cents anyway. Cheers! Happy New Year!!!

Fucking Spectacular!!! Absolutely flawless sir! One of my favorite Dead tunes ever since I was a wee lad and I can confidently say you did it justice. Obviously I immediately subbed and can’t wait to backtrack through your catalogue! Happy New Year!

Nailed it!! Enjoyed seeing how it was done, while listening to the rest of the band COOKING along!! Needed two drummers in order to keep up, Lesh and Weir were on fire!

Recorded January 26th, 1969 at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. If you want the original version, along with the rest of the performance that night: archive.org/details/gd1969-01-26.sbd.miller.109642.flac16/gd69-01-26d1t07.flac

Why is this the only upload!?!??? Also, I wish I could see the right hand! He appears to have a fairly unique finger picking style, almost like a “hybrid slap” if he were playing bass or for the Jerry aficionados a modern banjo picking cadence. I want to see more…
