This song showed up on Greenpeace Rainbow Warriors 2 CD set. I bought it in either 98 or 99. My elderly Dad liked the whole 2 CD set from Greenpeace. I actually took the Old Pollack to the 89 March for Women's Lives in DC when I was in grad. school. We had a great time, and at that time, it was the largest women's right's march ever in the history of the country. It was eclipsed after inauguration 2017.

It was a bit more than that... … Heartless powers try to tell us what to think If the spirit's sleeping then the flesh is ink History's page will be neatly carved in stone The future's here, we are it, we are on our own On our own, on our own, we are on our own … If the game is lost, then we're all the same No one left to place or take the blame We will leave this place an empty stone Or that shining ball of blue we call our home … So the kids, they dance, they shake their bones And the politicians throwing stones Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down Ashes, ashes, all fall down

John Cutler recruited a bunch of kids from his kid's school (Presidio Hill School in San Francisco) for this video. I was 12 and a bit too old, but it's fun to see these kids again (I can remember about half their names, which sort of amazes me).

Crazy assignment! I printed out the lyrics to this song for my 2 children for them to analyze during their summer break between 7-8th and 8-9th grades. Seemed like an interesting way to introduce them to deeper thinking- maybe! GOT NOTHING BACK! They did not even try! This generation is "INTERERSTING!" The only word I could think of! Actually, they say it (interesting) a LOT! They are 24 and 25 now and DO NOT remember nor care one IOTA about that challenge that could have opened their eyes to their future life! Aside from food, clothing, shelter and nourishing, what more could I do for them? The words of this song are a map to our success! Ashes, Ashes, ALL FALL DOWN! Stop the BUITLLSH!

Mine too. If I have a night drinking (and some ”extras”) and listening to music, I always have to wait a few hours before I put on Grateful Dead. Cause when Grateful Dead comes on the stereo, nothing else will do after them really. I’m sucked into their world and can easily listen to them for 7-8 hours in a row. If I try to put something else on after it just sounds weak and boring in comparison. My wife will kill me some day, haha.
