The 7-3-6 functions as a minor 2-5-1 of 6 (7 being the 2 of 6, 3 being the 5 of 6, and 1 being 6 itself). The G7 has a couple different functions: it functions as a secondary dominant of C-, and adds a little spice. Not only that, it can also be used a tri-tone substitution of 4 (Db Major). 4 to 3 sounds so plain, so use the tri-tone sub instead. In this case, as a passing chord, I feel like the G7 functions more as a tri-tone sub rather than a secondary dominant.

AWESOME breakdown for intermediates!! I will be studying this vid!! This is one of the best videos of explaining the WHY!!!! I have found that many spell out EVERYTHING but don't explain anything!! You did a very good job of explaining and showing us. I especially love the visual of the staff! That is soooooo helpful! Thank YOU!!!!

Hello and thank you for your time ans efforts. So many have post videos to showcase their talents but not share their knowledge. We always forget that we all were once hungry for the knowledge but once we have obtained it, we forget about others who are coming up. Be Grateful Be Thankful Be Blessed. (RTJ)

The 7th is the 5th of the 3rd so the G7 is used as a second dominant.

These are hard to follow because when the upper part shows the keys your playing, some show the notes too briefly to see what they actually are.
