I visited his home . You past it going the graveyard. His housekeeper Mrs. Hough let me into a two car garage converted into a museum. His red suit and gold records were in there. All kinds of memorabilia. While visiting his grave , I let my dog of the rope to stretch her legs. She immediately went into those woods. I couldn't see her but could hear a horse whinnying and running around. My dog was chasing the horse. That's a good way for a dog to get shot by the farmer. Finally she came back through the brambles. She was slightly cut up , wet , covered in mud and horse poo. I got her back on the rope. She was panting as much as I was. I was upset and concerned , she was happy and smiling. As I got to my vehicle , I turned and looked back. My concern turned to laughter. I figured ol Jerry was looking down and laughing too. The people of that area are golden , just like Jerry. I'll visit again this Sept.

I saw him in Jemison,Alabama. He came by himself in a Cadillac and left by himself and a big old Cadillac. I’ll never forget how kind he was. Don Willams was also there that night singing. Good stories and good music.

Being born and raise in Amite “A mit” county with family all around there , Jerry Clower was a gem , he commanded a room when he walked in . He liked to hang out at the local pharmacy in Liberty to drink coffee with the boys … He will always be missed … One of the Greatest story tellers, clean comedians and patriarchs with his family . RIP Jerry Route 4 Liberty Ms

I'm from that area too. It's funny that you mention the group that hung out at Liberty Drug Store. I usually tell the same story. Mr. Clower's MS State coffee mug is still hanging on the hook where he left it over 20 years ago.

Id like to thank you for your time and efforts toward Jerrys legacy. With all due respect I appreciated him as much as you do. I was raised by my Great grandparents and I got introduced to him at an early age. I been listening to him my whole life and try to share his album/skits to as many people as I can. He was a great inspiration as well as a great witness for God. Again,i thank you for many people for the respect you have shared.

Thank You for making this happen. I was able to see Jerry Clower 3 times live. He even came to our little town in Arkansas during the County Fair. He wore a suit with a big Raccoon 🦝 patch. He put on some kind of live show too. He always preached at the end of every show or recording He ever done. My Dad would almost lose his breath laughing so hard. So many great memories listening & seeing Mr Jerry Clowers live. Thanks so much for bringing his resting place to view. I really appreciate it.

Great memories from Jerry. In the mid 70's I worked for Sutherland Lumber Company & Jerry did commercials for Sutherlands. A few of us got to go to lunch with him when he visted our store & the stories he told us. I believe the story that you mentioned about the truck & horn & mule was The Plantin Buggle. Dammit Ray was another good one. He made you laugh without any profanity. Thx for the memories.

Might be the middle of nowhere to most, but he's "Home", in more ways than one. #1, He's resting in the soil of the place he called/made his home. And, #2, As a Christian, he's finally home with his Lord. Jerry Clower was a country man, a man's, man, a southern gentleman, but above all of that, he was a Godly man. He never had to resort to profanity or vulgarity or innuendo to get a laugh. He just knew how to relate a story so everyone could see the humor in it. The impressive part was, take note of his head stone. Nothing over the top, garrish, or saying look at me. A truly humble but great man, an American treasure, Jerry Clower!

My favorite story was Ole Brumey Wasn’t Treein’ A Coon” about Marcel being late for school and was telling the teacher why he was late . He said they were having trouble with weasels getting their chickens . He said that they heard a ruckus coming from the hen house about 3 that morning , so Papa got up out of bed and woke him up and told him the weasels were getting their chickens again . He said that Papa wore a nightgown to bed and nothing else , so when he grabbed his shotgun , thumb cocked it and eased around the corner of the hen house , my best coon dog Ole Brumey came up behind him , cold nosed him under that nightgown , he said I’ve been picking chickens ever since!😂😂

Jerry was one of my favorite entertainers as a kid growing up. I still listen to his videos on KZbin. That is a sad graveyard. Why would they bury Jerry in such a sad lonesome place? Someone needs to clean up those grave markers. It's sad they were ignored like that. Cool video thanks for sharing.

This video brings back a lot of memories for me. I too grew up listing and watching Jerry....my how times have changed. The clip you have here was shot from a high school not far from me. (Chase High School / Rutherford County, NC) He was larger than life for many of us, so I find his unassuming grave site somewhat interesting. But that is the way he would wanted, as he has moved on to his reward he so often spoke of while on stage. Loved the video!!

I had a chance to meet him in 78 but by luck, my football team was playing for the county championship. I was pretty tore up on what to do when the sponsor of the shows wife, my teacher had told him I was his greatest fan he sent word by her that he understood ( she had made it where I could meet him after the show but I didn’t know that at the time). And he had told her if he was in the same situation he wouldn’t come see him his self. And for us to go out and win that game which we did. The next day at school she gave me my ticket stub and a couple of things Mr. Clower had signed for me. I don’t think there’s been a week go by after that day, that when I heard he was going to be on tv or the radio that I’ve missed. Love your channel.

A truck I had for years had the old satellite trial on it, and it was never taken off. I used to listen to the comedy channels all the time, and Jeff and Larry's had Jerry Clower on it a lot, but since it was the trial, I never knew who it was, just that I laughed hysterically at when he was on. I eventually was able to figure it out bc my wife's newer car, that we used for travel, we had a full subscription put in. I've been down a rabbit hole of his since. His records are great, his "Ain't God Great" album was just as good as his others.

I am from outside of Richmond Virginia. My dad played numerous albums of Jerry Clower when I was young coming up as a child. Back then I didn't know what to think of it because I didn't understand it. The past 10 years or so from today I've learned to love and get such an understanding of Jerry Clowers witty, humorous, forever more laughterous(probably as Jerry clower would say himself) way did he displayed and showed to everybody. I always take time to use reference of what Jerry Clower puts out there to different people that I know, because it just hits home to me in a way to describe certain things to certain people. I want to thank you personally for doing what you do I have done some research on Jerry myself and this helps me further that research. Jerry Clower was a humorous and he definitely knew how to connect with people. I can't help but to have things kind of hit home with how he says them certain things. Thank you for your time, your services and all the extra you put in between to do this for everybody!!

I grew up around Tuscaloosa Ala and heard Jerry's comedy on the radio many times but never saw him perform live. In 1997 my 5 year old son and I were traveling from Dallas to my parents home in Northport Ala. We were tired and getting late so we stopped at a hotel in Meridian, Miss. The next morning we were at the front desk with several others who were checking out. I was wearing casual clothes and was barefoot. From behind me I heard that unmistakable voice say " My that's a fine looking boy and your Daddy ain't got no shoes" we talked for a few minutes while waiting in line for our turn. I will never forget that surprise meeting and my son who is 30 yrs old still remembers him as well. So happy I got to meet the man in person because he was the character in his stories not so actor.
