The ride through the forest was my favorite. I only have a very small area like that where i am but its the best ride ive ever done. I need to go back and take a ride there again. Thats what gravel riding is all about, get away from the busy city streets and enjoy nature sightseeing

Fantastic ride. I didn't expect it to be so green down there this time of the year.

A ton of rain of late, very unseasonal for the summer.

Amazing it was so dry considering the rain we had before the ride. One of my favourite gravel riding locations

Doing it this Friday on rigid mountain bikes, 29 deg forecast. You guys make it look so easy - we'll make it look so hard. 🤣 Taking 4 litres of water each.....and my satellite communicator. 🤣

Just found your channel. I’m returning to cycling after some years in the wilderness and have always had a hard tail mountain bike and recently got my first dual suspension at 56. This gravel riding on road bikes is new to me. A question - why the road bikes vs a hard tail mtb? Just curious.

Hello there. Gravel bikes aka larger tyre road bikes if you prefer to call them that, have been making inroads into cycling for well over 10 years. Cyclocross bikes before that. Drop handlebars, IMHO, far superior to the one or two hand positions of a hard tail MTB. Additionally, I don't really need suspension, when I have wider tyres and pneumatic suspension offered by them at appropriately low pressure. With that said, there are plenty of people riding MTB's on dirt and gravel roads, whatever works for you.

@@lizardears4861 I've just done the ride on a rigid MTB with + (2.8") size tyres - I was glad to have the wide tyres because it got a bit hairy tearing down some of the steep gravel descents - I nearly slid out at one point. (although the guy behind said I was clueless for not avoiding the loose stuff 😉) Bloody ripper of a ride!

Whoa! That was a sweet route. If someone wanted to do an AUS gravel cycling holiday, where would be a good place to start? Thanks for (all) your videos. I’m a big fan of this type content.

Hello Richard, sorry for the delay in responding. My home city of Adelaide / South Australia has amazing riding, and recently played host to RADL GRVL. However, there is so much good riding in Australia, difficult to limit to one region. I have a lot of videos in the hopper, stay tuned.

I sold my Lynskey PRO GR you are probably referring to, but I have a polished Lynskey PRO GR I need to build one of these days... still sitting in a box, somewhere in my house.
