Xterra and Off Road Triathlon races Philippines (phil) did not flourish because the phil mtb market is stingy as compared to the road or gravel market. Gravel race organizers would stage this event as gravel races even though the tracks were designed for mtb because phil gravel racers are more generous. Based on the videos Ive seen on you tube, gravel tracks are not available in the phils.

Yes, I will agree with most of your observations. The closest to real gravel roads that I have seen are up in Nueva Ecija. Quite far from the metro. And so as we ride our Gravel bikes on paved roads to get to what could be considered XC-style MTB trails, I suppose the more accurate description will be using our Gravel bikes for “mixed surface” riding. In any case, I think it’s a very refreshing and welcome versatility.

Haha! Are you really curious or are you pulling my leg? Ok I’ll indulge. Like in Scuba Diving, we must forcibly expel all the old air/CO2 so we have more room for the new air. In Suba Diving and under water you might feel breathless thinking you’re not getting enough air and panic. But actually all that is happening is that you are leaving used air in your lungs, taking up the space that new air can occupy. So calm down, and exhale forcibly to rid yourself of old air in your lungs which is just taking up space, and no longer providing new oxygen. So, as air if the fuel to our energy, I use my whole chest cavity (with the help of the diaphragm) to consciously and forcibly empty my lungs of used air, then the inhale will come naturally. Does that makes sense?

@@JohnJohnBIKES hahaha yeah i get it! i always hear this belly breathing in cycling, especially in aero/TT position. when elite cyclists look at their photos and see they've got this inflated abdomen, they say that's how it should be. as for me naman, when i look at my photos, aero or not, my abdomen is always bulging 🤣🤣🤣 its all belly and no breathing! hahahaha thank you!!! i will try to practice this more!

What is the average gradient of this climb?

Strava segment has it as 900m with Ave 4.1% gradient. But being offroad, I see some portions jump to 15% and 17% too.
