I've watched all you videos and learned a lot. I've almost "got it" about how the planetary works, the clutches and the worm gear. I've taken a unit almost completely apart and re-assembled and will watch your videos again. Thanks!

Great video series! Keep them coming. I would like to ask your advice on my 1957 L if you do not mind. The hi-lo actuating rod as it exits the left housing side(non lever) has some movement side to side which appears not normal and I can not go into lo gear. Any advice welcome. Thank-you for your video on the Gravely planetary high-low unit. I am working on a Gravely walk-behind unit for a friend. The planetary high-low, ahead of the engine, like the unit in your video, was locked in the forward / low position. I removed engine, and planetary unit. The friction material on the Raybestos clutch ring looks paper thin. I believe the friction surface is worn too thin and the lock ring is moving too far forward and wedging it locked. How thick ahould the lining be?
