I love my Gravely Pro-Turn 148. The only thing about it that I don't care for is the oil change process.

I picked up a ZT HD 44 this past Spring and recently winterized it; your video was extremely helpful in walking me through the steps of what to do when changing the oil and cleaning the air filter. Quick question: I live in the Northeast and our Winters can get cold. While I've already disconnected the battery (from its leads), should I bring it inside until the Spring? I ask because I cannot figure out how to remove it with ease. I used to have a Husqvarna riding mower and the battery was easy-in / easy-out; the ZT's battery is a lot smaller and appears to be really tucked away. Anyone have any videos to share of battery removal?

I'm "supposed" to have a new ZT-HD delivered this week. Dealer's been having issues with Gravely sending him the correct accessories. I'd really like to use the Canister Air Filter for it but the ROPS might prevent it from fitting. The vendor, (Powerequipmentman) sent some pics that should help me decide.

I would recommend you get the foam prefilter for your airfilter to better protect your aue intake.

Pro tip, get a used 1/2 ton chain hoist and find a garage joist or a strong tree branch to lift up the mower instead of wheel ramps and janky hi-lift jacking.

FYI......Cardinal sin of zero turns with "maintenance free spindles", never use water you are washing what little grease you have in your spindles away with the pressure washer!!! Use a blower and broom nearing 300 hours on my factory spindles. never been greased other than the factory grease. MY DECK SPINDLES sound and feel like new on my ZTXL -42 / 324 hrs and counting.... I CAN REMOVE THE DECK FASTER THAN JACKING IT UP IT IS A PIECE OF CAKE NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES TO REMOVE IT

Why don't you use a pre filter on the air filter? First thing I bought before leaving dealer

I probably should get one. Never thought about it. Thanks!

I am brand new to owning a zero turn. Its a Gravely too. I have seen guys jack up the front end some during the oil change. Wouldnt that help drain faster and perhaps help get all of it out?

I bought a new ZT HD 60 on 03-22-2024, model number 991272, and it did not come with the oil drain hose. Only a cheap plastic oil drain piece. Pisses me off. I ordered the Gravely hose, j-clamp, and bolt and will install all of it at my initial oil change at 10 hours.

I see im not the only one who struggled with the oil filter , i had to get my mad on to take it off by hand. I think they make a socket type that would be alot easier that way you could hit it head on....

The factories "herc" every oil filter on, no matter who builds it. Hand tight has worked for me for 55 years of changing oil.

When changing both the oil and filter on a Kawasaki it takes 2.1 quarts with a new filter.

I would not power wash my machine I use my leaf blower to blow off all debris after mowing. Water will destroy it from rust and electrical problems..

How much did you pay for your ZT?..............4-5 K dollars?............please put a new air filter on your investment along with a pre filter, Honestly, how much is an air filter? compared to the cost of a engine rebuild prematurely
@evanhuff82549 ай бұрын
What is a pre-filter? Tied in with the air filter ?
@herman5eight9 ай бұрын
@@evanhuff8254 its a foam boot that fits over your regular filter for added air filtration that keeps the air cleaner going into the engine.
