I must admit that I went into this game slightly worried. Bournemouth have been goal crazy, putting 4 past Newcastle at Newcastle and then 5 past Forest who’s defending has been excellent. But this result is huge. Winning games away like this is title form. Still not over yet, but if Liverpool win their game in hand against Everton, then I think that all but sews it up. Mind you, David Moyes is back there, and that worries me because we didn’t win many games against his Everton teams in his last tenure there…

As regards the penalty, no Bournemouth player seemed to think it wasn't a penalty. I suspect that that tells its own story. It doesn't take much contact to clip a player's heels together, and that's basically what happened here.

The match commentators on Irish sports channel said the defender got too close to Gakpo from behind when running after him. Replays showing small contact with Gakpo's trailing leg mid-stride, affecting Gakpo's strike where his taking leg them goes on to hit his front leg as a result of the initial contact. The ref had a great view and called it very quickly, once he's done that there wasn't enough for VAR to overturn as no-pen.

( Dont want him to change what he does cause it works, I'm just curious if he can have more numbers in terms of goals and chips over opponent players without harming all his other good attributes he has, and people should realise that interceptions are way more effective then passing a ball around and look for openings. ) These are my opinions and observations, im not here to bash anyone or anything. Bournemouth were incredible today constantly pushing Liverpool back and attacking with intense pressure. Honestly shocked they didn't get anything from the game they looked more dangerous for so many spells. As a Liverpool fan I am so grateful to see how composed and mature this team is performing and thank god everyday for Arne Slot. I noticed they defended differently having Konate coming out to make the tackle with Trent falling back into the box with Gravenberch filling into the center back role with ease.
