Graver Sharpening Using A Steve Lindsay Template,and engraving demo

The previous video sucked so bad,didn't realize you couldn't actually see what I was doing to the graver,so re did this part,there is probably some useful info on the other one.

Awesome work! Is this template only able to make one type of graver point? If so, how should I get the other style of graver points?

hello shaun can you please give me some advice. im using the 96 graver and trying to do your little scrolls but my graver keeps scraping back of the line as i turn into the scroll. ive been practicing for 3 days i can nearly do the scroll if i dont go very deep . should i put a bigger heel?

Martin Stockbridge keep the heel short, but put a very small face on the very bottom of your graver almost to where the point of both heels end, that should help with not damaging the back end on your lines when turning

Ese Clavo thanks for your reply I'll give it ago. its been so frustrating trying to work it out i did notice i was holding the graver to low (horizontal) which weren't helping. thanks once again i let you know how i get on🖒

How does the constant vibration on your hands effect your every day life?

The gravermach hand-piece doesn't really put any shock back into my hand,the force is going towards the graver point,so dont see that as a problem. You can cause more problems if you hold the graver in the wrong orientation,or angle. You can get so focused on what you are engraving,that you don't realize you have contorted your hand for a few hours and it hurts,so you have to remind yourself to keep it at 4 o'clock in the view,and at a lower angle.

When you ordered your Steve lindsay templates did you find the postage cost nearly aas much as a set of templates it was really pricey when I tried to buy some so I left it

I did exactly the same thing for years. It did have an option years ago, where you could choose cheaper shipping at your own risk. I it did have a finger hole in packet when it arrived for a look see I think, but all they see is a bit of blue plastic. They are worth it to disolve the illusion that there is no magic geometry. There are quite a few vids and 3d files for free out there now. Andu on etsy used to do a knock off set on etsy, his quality is inferior. 🙂♥️
