It was a night like this, where the moonlight broke through cracks in the black sky and glistened against the moldering tombs of long forgotten dead; a kaleidoscope of whites and greys and purples; knives cutting in the dark; eyes dancing in malevolent mirth; the abyss yawning before us juxtaposed the faint sparkles of light. It was a night just like this - the lulling susurrations of rain against our alabaster-white skin; steaming, soaking, penetrating, down until all we knew were the infinite depths of the murky deep; a deep so low and so thick that time itself stalled in its inevitable, endless crawl forward. It was a night like this that we made our first terrible mistake.

I use to live in a small town and worked for the town parks department. We took care of all of the property including doing the burials in the cemetary. One day after a funeral, we were finishing burying the casket and I got a call on my phone. When asked what I was doing, I said burying a body...silence on the other end of the call.

I love listening to this as I fall asleep, I imagine I’m sleeping inside a small mausoleum listening to the eerie sounds outside, knowing I’m safe from anything out there.
@AfraidMonsters11 ай бұрын
Your comment is what I imagine every time I go to sleep listening to this. Thank you. I love just imagining Im in a mausoleum, and I’ve boarded the entrance up with wood planks and nails. There’s very thin slits at the top of the walls, to let in light, and air. It lets me hear the surroundings and all the sounds. The constant rain. The footsteps, animals, beasts, monsters. The monks singing. The very nearby bell tower’s bell ringing. (Must be where those minks also are.) Etc. And I look around the small mausoleum, in the dark, as I lay on the floor. I hear all those sounds outside, and even see the doors and planks shake a bit from someone trying to get in, with some of the sounds. But I’m safe. And those things don’t scare me. 🥱😴 Idk why I love “scary” things, but I do.

I cannot remember how I got there. I only recall the deafening sound of the rain, and the increasingly intense footsteps on the muddy ground, as they approached what resembled an empty grave. Hoping an answer from the night, I leaned into the darkness, wondering what awaited me there. Would it be fear? Would it be sadness? Would it be death? The raindrops began to muffle. The cold stopped, though it wasn't warmer. And there it was. The surprising realization of encountering what you already knew. The sight of my own reflection And as the light faded away, I simply stood there, watching as nothing happened, nothing changed. Nothing remained.

I recently discovered a HUGE cemetery that rested right down the road from me. I started to go jogging there. I had always been obsessed with graveyards and how peaceful they were. It was so big. Miles long and wide so it became the perfect place to jog. One day I was walking over there and had been on the phone with my little sister. She had just gotten covid so I was talking to her hours a day because she was so bored from being quarantined in her room. I was about to go through the gate of the graveyard when a suburban full of men drove by. I heard one say "Damn, I'd make her my wife". They cat called me and went on there way ( the drove past the cemetery as I entered). So as I was jogging I continued to talk with my sister. I go deeeeeep into the cemetery. Its maybe been... almost two hours now? (I love to jog) So im past the middle mark of the cemetery, which puts me far from the enter/exit gate. There is no one around me. Im talking to my sister when I hear a vehicle go through a puddle of water then stop. I turned around and it was that same vehicle. They had stopped at the end of the little road that was directly behind me. They stopped blocking it off with their vehicle parallel to the opening. I continued to talk with my sister. After a few moments the vehicle maneuvered around and sped past me. Relief flushed over me. That was until the stopped directly in front of me blocking the opening to the little road and I saw a door open. at this point im freaking out because im really far in the cemetery. no one is around and the only exit is almost a mile away. So one of the doors open. a man gets out and the suburban speeds off. but instead of going straight they take a left, which makes me think they're going to pull around. So im still talking to my sister at this point. Now why is that important? because I think it saved my life. She was on speaker the whole time of our conversation. at this point of us talking we had gotten into the subject of wether God is real or not. I had not tipped her off of any sketchiness as of yet. So the guy gets out, car speeds off.. He starts walking towards me. Its over 90 degrees out. he's wearing pajama pants and a hoodie. The hoodie a large pocket in the front where one of his hands rested... It was BULKY. Like he was holding something in his hand. SO I am definitely freaking at this point but am not showing it. As he approaches me the conversation with my sister got something like this: sister ; " I just don't want it to be like... you know.. I didn't believe in God. then I die and go to hell" Me: "I get that, but don't believe in something solely on the fear of it... at the same time, you want to be a stand up citizen. you want to be a decent human being. so when death does come and there is an afterlife and judgement, maybe you'll be OK because you were just a decent person." He can hear this because im talking very loud due to my jogging and breathing. I was forcing the words out. the guy walks right past me then turns around to follow me. I look around and don't see the suburban anywhere. So he is following me and im still talking to my sis... FINALLY he cuts off behind a tree and I don't see him... I take off running and start telling my sister to pull up my location. this lasts 15 mins till I make it out.. (I was exhausted so was doing a walk run thing). I see people about 5 mins before making it out. thank goodness. I don't see the car or guy anymore... I get home and made it safe. husband makes me call the cops. The cops were bsaicllay like "yeah, they were following you. you're lucky" Ithat's Ithat's of dudes at work about this and they said I was fortunate because that was a bad area and that a 17 yr olds body got dumped outside of that cemetery a couple of months prior. I had no idea. I live on Baylor University and this is literally across the street then just four blocks over. story. BE CAREFUL. Cemetery's can be dangerous. sorry for the errors, if any. I am not proof reading this $hit.

I looked at the grave, mortified. “No..it can’t be..” My mum, laying six feet under. I was there at the hospital, after she had her heart attack. I know she survived, I didn’t hear any flatlines or anything like that.. I heard creatures, but I didn’t pay attention. I was to buried in my grief to be worried about some mutts. I didn’t know what to do, I wasn’t ready for this. My brother who was behind me left as soon as he saw our mums name. I heard voices, and loud bells ringing in my ears. The voices sounded like my dad, who passed away years ago. I always heard my dads voice, everyday. Warnings, complements...threats. I heard a loud exhale, and looked around, nothing. I wanted to leave, but I couldn’t get my eyes off her name, “Mary BlackHart”. Wait..Mary? My mums name is Anne..somethings wrong, I can feel it.

Love it! Has a real Creepy/Eerie magazine vibe. Sorry to those too young for that reference.

Nothing like a delicious henbane salad with yak sandwiches on a dark moonlit night to bring the family together...don't forget the arsenic
