I would like to point out that Disa's ability protects goyfs from Counterspell lol
@jessianderson39595 ай бұрын
And the cascade spells are from Boomer Jund Modern lol! All references. Anyways, they're not good if I can accidentally hit brawn or anger accidentally.

The ability putting them into play off the deck or from your hand when discarded does dodge counters, but you still have to cast some creatures, and I have a special bit of disdain for a couple mono-blue players at my LGS that think it's fun to run a deck with like 30 counterspells and Baral as the Commander, so this is my protest piece for them.

Your upgrades here make this deck a powerhouse!! I am glad you went with Disa, I think Coram would take the deck in a completely separate direction which does not synergise well with the rest of the deck. Awesome deck tech man! By the way, love the mic setup now! Killing it!!

Glad you liked it. And yeah, it feels like for this deck and another one I'm working up, the secondary Commanders don't play into the theme of the front face. But then it does allow you to diverge two distinct builds if you want. And I'm happy to hear the audio is doing better. I think I finally have the post settings figured out, mostly.

Rather than (or perhaps in addition to) malevolent awakening, you could also do tortured existence. If you discard a goyf you could get a free card to the field while still getting one back to your hand.
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
Yup. Someone else mentioned it. I forgot about the card as I haven't used it in a few years where I had a copy Awakening close at hand and thought it would be an include that you don't see often. I'd likely go with Existence over it simply for the better synergy. But great recommendation none the less.

Nice vids but i think some really good add to the deck and SHOULD be in the deck is : Phyrexian rebirth : To get back goyf to our hand without sacrificing our goyf A lot of mass ressurection spell especially Patriarch biding ! Exemple : If pyrogoyf is in the graveyard and you bring all your goyf at once they will be a lot of trigger for him and might kill one or more player if they don't play tribal ! (Downside is that it empty players graveyard but i think it should be considerate) And also adding those red draw spell that make us discard a cards so we can draw, discard a goyf, bring him back on the field. Im kind of a new player, started last year but i really like the Goyf precon and hope that we'll be able to make something great with it

Great call on Bidding. If your playgroup is more creature type focused, you could try Command the Dreadhorde as well since most of the Goyfs are relatively low mana value. I'd also run Wheel of Fortune in my build since I own a copy, which could get you several at once. I just don't recommend it in my videos since it's so pricey. But if your group doesn't mind proxies, that's a good one to do.

Deathreap Ritual can trigger 4 times per cycle. You could possibly draw a card every player’s endstep. And 1 less mana to cast.
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
It can, but you have to wait on the cards and a wipe means you get 1 card and nothing more. It's why I prefer Reclaimation. Just personal preference.

Mortuary and Altar of Dementia would be interesting in this deck for a more combo focused build
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
Altar could be fun. If a Goyf is going to die anyhow, sac it, mill and get more on the board. Nice suggestion.

I think you missed one of the greatest cards for this list.. Tortured Existence.. It is literal return a creature to your hand put a Goyf into play for 1 black mana in this deck. Also cards like Fauna Shaman or Survival of the Fittest are nuts in this. I like that you wanted to add Rhythm of the Wild as an anti counter tech. It is just a great piece overall. Having haste and protection from Counter is very good. :D A few others to consider: Doom Whisperer, Grim Flayer, Chainer Nightmare Adept, Golgari Grave-Troll, Hermit Druid, Moria Scavenger, Ashes of the Fallen and Insidious Roots. And yes Ashes of the Fallen works might people not be sure. The creature wil hit the graveyard, Disa sees it as a Llurgoyf when it hits and then she puts it into play. ;) There are quite a few more that are possible great in this deck though, there are just too many options really. But hope that the cards I mentioned might inspire some people on their decks. I am building her myself and still trying to figure exactly what I want to put in or cut. Because you want to have a bit of early game and also want to abuse both her abilities as much as possible.

Great suggestions all around. I forgot about Tortured Existence. Very good here.

I’m definitely adding some changelings
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
I had considered it, but for the fact that they don't grow size made me not use them. Atm, the only one I'm still on the fence about is the 1/1 unblockable and only as a way to ensure a token creation.

Coram lets you cast things that were put there from the library
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
He does, but that part of him is negated if a Goyf gets milled with Disa out. It's a little disharmony for the deck but still a good card.

Glad you liked them. It's dicey chopping new cards but some of these just don't work for where I wanted to go with the deck.

Why would you ever target your own stuff with Tempt? Its clearly there to target opponents big spells. Like oh you want an extra turn? How about we all take a few.
@twilightscallmtg5 ай бұрын
I'm not one for giving my opponents copies of things. I also don't like relying on what they have in their deck, to make this card worth running if I don't want to be copying things I'm casting. If I'm in a Chaos deck, sure, I'll go for it and watch the world burn with the consequences of whatever I give them. For this deck? It's not a spell I want when it doesn't really serve the rest of the deck and what it wants to be doing.
