The debate on the 383 vs 440 as a 'sale feature' is hilarious...especially the more you've been down that road before, yourself. Back in the early 1980's, I was on a kick to find a 440 (running engine), and they had really 'dried up'. I even got suckered on a 400 (and my lesson about NEVER taking someone's 'sworn word' as to engine displacement). Of the weirdest flukes, a dairy farmer about 2-miles from my house had a BIG, black 4-door Chrysler sitting down by the road, and I stopped and asked him about it. He said he had purchased it at a government auction, didn't know why...didn't need it, and was just trying to get his money back out of it now. I asked him 'how much you want for it', and he said 'move it out of here today, I'll take $500'. I went out, checked the block code, it was a real 440, and paid him. Come to find out, it was a decommissioned FBI car, and from 'certified speedometer' to full gauges, electric EVERYTHING, 727 Torqueflite, Dana 60 rear with Trac-Lock, to giant radiator, full AC... I easily got my money's worth from parting that old 'land barge' out! The 440 ended up in my 70 Charger, at the time (once I put on a different set of heads and intake).

The good old days when 300 dollar one owner 67 gtx red on red cars were still laying around...

Thanks for uploading this video. 60-70s Mopars are at or near the very top of the list when it comes to great American muscle cars. But since you titled this 45 minute video "Monochromatic Cuda", it might have been wise/nice to have mentioned the time mark where that particular car appears and is discussed, assuming it's actually even in the video? I didn't see any red Cudas as I several times skimmed through it.

First graveyard cars I saw. Was a car that was wrecked and alot of parts missing. I thought that's sad. They will pass it up. But I heard..hang on. Have the parts to restore to former glory. I said (out loud) NO WAYYYY!!! I put the remote down. And instant fan. Car guys can truly relate. We all have seen cars that has set for decades, missing parts maybe even wrecked. Wishing the guy would fix it. Even stopping by asking if for sale. But the car set there and died where it set. Rusted away. The car that I will remember till the day I die. Brown dodge Daytona. Driver side wrecked but drivable. He was gonna sale it to me. 8500 back in the 80s. Couldn't come up with it. 😭 Another close to 1st. Was another Daytona. But it was seen driving around on rare occasions. Don't know if RARE or someone CUSTOM painted it. Was RED WHITE & BLUE STARS AND STRIPES. NEVER HAVE SEEN ANOTHER LIKE IT??? These guys bring these cars back to life. So awesome

I always laugh when somebody mentions how cool an AM/8-track is. About 25 years ago, NOBODY and I mean NOOOBODY wanted an 8-track player in their car. They would hack the dash six ways from September to fit in a shaft-mount cassette or a single-DIN CD .... even in a high-end restoration. I used to buy 8-track decks at the wreckers for peanuts. At Swap Meets and on the internet I'd have more people buying straight AM's than anything with an 8-track. Fast forward a few years and I'd say about 2015, it really started to take off. People WANTED the 8-track again. It's hysterical. People who swore at me they'd NEVER put an 8-track deck in their car were coming to me and asking for players/advice/etc. Demand became so high that I had to get out of the business as it was costing me WAY too much to buy the players anymore. I used to pick 'em up for $20, put $50 and a couple hours work into them and sell 'em on for $200 - $300. Today? a junk e-body AM/8track is worth $750. A restored one? Well over a grand.

Can´t beleave to hear about scrap classics....I know it´s a whole different class of costs when you´ll make big buisness, but think about that there are so many upcomming young people of a youger generation, with their Dad´s or friends who´ll find an affordable classic car for a restoration in a "Father Son Project" or something else like this...And yes, also every 4 Dood car or even especially these, at best as an 4 dood hardtop without pillars is worth to keep an don´t crush anyone of these. I´ll give you a example at myself when i learned REALLY to restore, even with rusty US Classic cars in the fullsize class what stands for this nice amarican way of drive, and i learned to rebuild whole front fenders or wheel arches and all what you can find in sheet metal, i can rebuild it now with new flat sheet metal, a hammer and the expierence o this craftmanship that i got with that. And there are a lot more young people, real car guys like me out there who´ll find these classics also in some years ago. And when these people with the dollar bills in the eyes for the recycling metal now crushing them or parting them all out there wouldn´t be anything left in some years and then??? In my eyes this is a big crime to crush any classic car. Especially in this time where this damn N W 0 smells like shit with their fucking Electric Vehicle Agenda that take more and more reliable good cars in production. I know these high criminals in the Non Governmental Oganisations what has taken the whole world still in the moment good visible will fail and then the Electric Vehicle would be canceled again like it was canceled in 1900. But until this bad EV Agenda is still there we´ve to keep every classic and also upcoming classic in a whole car and not an crushed block of sheet metal because then this particular car and project is lost forever. Even we car guys and also the junk yards should stop crushing any classic now. I whish that was done 20 years ago ore so. Because it´s a real big rich of those classic, vintage cars in this masses left at USA. I see that from an different, terrible angle, because i live at germany and they crushed 99% of all vintage cars and closed such places what we call "Abandoned junk yards" or so. else like this 20 years or more ago. Here is nothing left and how bad this is, also especially for someone of the younger generations of car guys i can´t tell or show about good enough. I thin you at USA can´t imagine how sad, how bad, and how false it is when there aren´t any classic cars for affordable out there because young people doen´t has that money to get a 70 Challenger or so. else like that to start and learn to restore, even to get the expierience for this hobby and craftmanship. For these especially the Mid- & Full Size Class & land yards are the perfect base to start with. And this is why these cars should be kept alive and not trashed, partet out or so. else like that. Let it alive, however the condition is. Because i know how difficult to imagine it is, but there are a lot more patient young interests out there than the most people think but these cars aren´t shown anywhere and the owners are wondering why there isn´t any interesting in it. What the people don´t see they can´t find! And then they crush it?! How bad....How bad is it at germany with this hobby, we can´t digg out an classic car here. All "Recycled" and now also the cars 1990 and back are all in africa ore even destroyed, crushed, and the most of the pick up junk yards also closed. That´s not an good starting point for younger gen. of restorator car guys and such more.... Think about please, when you´ve big old car in your hands, that there is someone out there who´ll restore it and will save its history! And in my eyes it´s even so sad to see the tiny muscle cars only in these shows. All only 2 doors however they´re beautyful, the full size 4 Door Hardtops for example aren´t any less beautyful. And they´re full with american road history and style. The full size sedan was the most common car bak in the 60/70s but today its the complete opposite. You see 90% muscle cars and 10% of tha amazing land yards what had made the roads also so beautyful & even complete back then....
