a few decades ago the Dali Lama said he was The Last Incarnated Lama...he is doing it this way for a Very Good Reason. If he chooses this boy it is because this boy Has what it takes to be a Lama and is willing to do it. In the history of Tibet, in different times many Mogolian kings were converted to Tibetan Buddhism. Altan khan, gave the title Dalai Lama for the 3rd in line. Dalai Lama means .....Ocean Of Wisdoms..... and 4th Dalai Lama was from Mongol( only non Tibetan)...... So, Dalai Lama is also their spiritual leader same as Tibetan.

Technically the DL is not chosen by the top leaders or the people. It's the previous Lama choosing to be reborn in another body. The Lama in a new body is waiting to be found. When the current DL dies, finding the little boy matching the character of the DL would be interesting. So far the majority of the Lamas had chosen to be reborn in Tibet within the Tibetan population. There is a good chance he'd choose to come back in N. India or in a Western country. The Chinese govt would going to claim they found the little boy within their borders to keep the local Tibetans under their control.

And at a young age he can recite Buddhist scriptures in Tibetan. Anyway you look at it, the Chinese govt is going to claim they found the little boy who is supposedly the DL reborn. And Tibetans religious leaders outside Tibet would claim they found the little boy who is the legit successor.

Tibet was always an independent nation of the Himalayas with Buddhist heritage.....china forcibly annexed it---and will have to leave it---China is desperately trying to change the demographics by planting Han Chinese people imported from rest of china----but the Tibetan people can identify and remove them. You are talking of Mongolia but showing pictures of Ladak. In Tibetan Buddhism there are 5 main religious schools : 1. Nyima 2. Kargyu,3. Sakya, 4, Gelug , Rigme’( non sectarian) and 5. Bon,Tibets pre Buddhist religion. And every school has their own subprime leader. The present Dalai Lama is respected by all groups because of his wisdom and compassion, not because he has the title of a Dalai Lama= respect because his character and achievements….

Doubt it. May be panchen Lama title but can't be Dalai bec. Athman will only reincarnate after body is cremated depending on what the Dalai Lama decides to do. Many who have had death experiences & returned talk of meeting many elders in their family etc so highly improbable unless this is a different Buddha . U have various Buddha's because this Dalai Lama did say he is not going to reincarnate now. This rule of enlightened souls applies across all Sanathan dharma beliefs. Ie high regions exist in which yogi's, Swami's etc on character & deeds go to these regions & chose wen to come down again.

Let me present another perspective. Moksa is the state one reaches through enlightenment, which ends the cycle of rebirth. So if this boy is the reincarnation of the Lama X (his name is too long), then Lama X has NOT reached enlightenment, correct? So ... why follow the teachings of Lama X? Lama X has failed in his spirituality, and the boy (the 10th) is proof of that. And why is Lama X only being reincarnated as a male? What happens to the poor females in the world of reincarnation? If reincarnation is true, where are the extra souls coming from, given that the population is always expanding? Someone told me that the present Dalai Lama (14th Lama) is so spiritual, that he described in such detail the trip to the moon, it is like he personally made the trip, but we all know he hasn't been to the moon physically. This is considered one of many proofs that he is an enlightened being and capable of seeing the past and future. But he didn't see the Chinese invading and taking over Tibet? One of the most significant events in his life? He had to be smuggled out of Tibet with the Chinese army virtually on his doorstep. Tibetan monks had to take up arms (prior to this they had a philosophy of non violence), in order to slow the advance of the Chinese, which gave the Lama just enough time to flee to India and become a refugee!!! I have doubts about his abilities.

The names of the region Bharat, India(by Greeks), Hindustan (by Persians) are quite contemporary.
