In 1971, Pakistan's GDP was greater than many eastern European countries. Bangladesh was a desperately poor country. Bangladesh's economy is booming, the GDP and foreign reserve is twice the size of Pakistan. In every MDG goals like child mortality, women's education, livelyhood index and women empowerment Bangladesh has outperformed Pakistan. While Bangladesh spent their money on education, healthcare and infrastructure, Pakistan spent it on their army. The leesson here is: You can spend your money on either bullet or butter. Chose wisely.
