I love the use of color; the way the sprites are one color but they are just several shades of that color. Brilliant choice, simple and delicious

Holy crap. I didn't even realize your channel was so small until I finished the video. Good job reviewing the game man! Finished a walkthrough with all civilians resuced. Can say that GC is for sure a top-tier megaman lookalike. You deserve more growth! :D

Great review! This is definitely a fantastic game and, for me at least, outclassed Mega Man 9 and 10 in every way. I love that it takes almost everything great about all three Mega Man series and combines them into an amazing package. I really hope they make a sequel. I would love to see Gravity Circuit blossom into its own thing.

To me, in all honesty, if I were to compare Gravity Circuit to any Megaman Game, Id personally say... Gravity Circuit beats them all. X4 has been my treasured 2D action platformer for a decade now and I'm pretty sure I like GC more, it expands in everything it needed to, every single stage is good at MINIMUM, Kai feels like the most responsive character I've ever controlled, it's just a GOAT for me already.

It is a damn good game. I wouldnt say its any more responsive than your average MM game though. With the exception of the more animated games like 8 and x4 but certainly not the 8bit and 16bit games. Though MM games do have more limitations in movement and control but everything from the enemies and special weapons are designed around those intentional limitations. I digress but thats my two cents. But yeah GC is right up there with the best. They nailed it for sure. Looking forward to what they might do in GC2.

I have put on podcasts to help distract myself while I’m playing because there was definitely times when a platforming challenge was getting to me and I was losing my cool and getting salty. I put something on, swapped to a different stage and I powered through the whole game in like two nights. It has become a favorite way to relax. And especially enjoy some long form content on KZbin and watching this video I was twitching wanting to get a hold of the controller myself as I was going “you just went by a secret!” And there was combos that I saw that I definitely want to try. Granted as soon as I got the double jump and light fall chips I could never switch them off they make platforming an absolute delight and give Kai that extra pep in his step that makes the whole game come together for me. But I also know that I also want to try out new and novel chip combinations that change the game in whole new ways. And I am aiming for trying to get every achievement at some point. One of my favorite games this year.

I had a big problem with this game: I kept running into enemies and taking damage when trying to get into punching range of them. I don't mind a game being hard, but when the part I find hardest is really dumb, I mind that. Personally, I think it would have been way better if most enemies didn't have contact damage. Throwing enemies into other enemies was awesome though.

damn your videos are way too good for such a small channel, hope you grow soon. I'm a huge megaman fan myself, played them all multiple times. My favorite sereis are the zero and the battle network series, and about the zero series it's undeniable how bad the whole cyber elf system is, so I pretty much just ignore it, unless it's zero 4 where they finally nail the system. To me gravity circuit shows a lot of love to the old 8 bit games and also the zero series, picking the best of both worlds, namely the platforming challenge during the stages from the 8 bit, and the boss fights from zero. The only complaints I have for this game are pretty much what you said, the single color characters and the story. To me the story fails to connect you with any character whatsoever which is a big problem if they're planning to make a series out of this, I also don't like the half joking tone that's going on in every interaction,I like games that don't take itselft too seriously, but I dunno, this one doesn't do it for me. Anyway I'll probably play this game again and again and again much like any other megaman game, just uh skipping all the cutscenes and dialogue.

Thank you! And I agree the cyber elf system was my biggest issue with the zero series. I also find it odd to even have something called elves in a Mega Man game but maybe thats nitpicky lol. And I agree about this game’s half-joking tone. Thats a good point. I actually like when a story takes itself seriously, as long as it’s done well and am not big on self-aware humor in games and movies. But yeah you don’t end up caring about any of the characters in this game. Story is definitely the one area they’d need to improve on in a sequel.

there's so much that Capcom could have done with the Legacy X collection, I would love to see some kind of Level Randomizer for X1 through X3 (is that even possible?) and one for X4 through X6... Not sure how that could be done, but there must be a way... or maybe only the Bosses being randomized? or BOTH 🤣

There are randomizers that exist for some Mega Man games, so it is technically possible, though it’s not a simple implementation so it might have been unfortunately asking too much. Lol Would be a great addition though I agree.

Id have to double check, but I believe I used an alarm sound from X4. Perhaps thats the same sound clip they pulled for the x challenge.

I think the game lends itself to being pretty replayable in general but yes there’s a hard mode.

There's a few features you unlock when you beat the game: - New Game +: Play from the start with all your previous upgrades unlocked - Circuit Mode: Your Burst Meter is capped at 2, but you can spend HP to do Burst Moves - Speedrun Mode: Turning this on skips all cutscenes and dialogues As far as I could tell, Hard Mode makes enemies have more HP and deal more damage. Maybe it makes a few boss patterns harder? I'm not sure but it felt like it 😅
