That's some very clever pcb design. It really looks like the bigger pcb (I/O, power, controls, ...) is used as a platform for all their pedals and the smaller one adds the specific audio circuitry. Extremely interesting video!

@@bobibobik5903 As far as (non DSP) pedals go, this is probably as complicated as it gets.
@bobibobik59032 жыл бұрын
@@error8418 as an electrical engineer, I wouldn't agree with that. The pedal is digital, and the fact that such people sell you fairy tales is already marketing, in case you are buying them, if you don't then sorry. He's not the only one but he went the furthest with the prices ☺, maybe there are others but I don't follow that scene much in last few years because of copying and stealing from DIY forums. So there are far more complex pedals in terms of engineering. No joking, I'd rather recommend any multi processor over that or similar pedals to anyone. At least that's my opinion but i'm sure magazines and forums which corporate with those brands say different ☺.

For anyone else wondering, the big IC looks like an STM32 microcontroller, although I can't see which one. Powerful little microcontroller which I've seen used in a few audio projects.

Can you please tell us what IC's models are. Specially the DSP they are using(most interesting part to me)? I zoomed in, think its STM ARM MCU, which is cool and a little bit unexpected to me. But I have also heard that meris is using an 32bit MCU and not dedicated DSP like sharc..

Hey just curious what you mean by latency when describing this pedal. Thanks.
@MatthewSwasta2 жыл бұрын
@@cb24203 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXnYeax-iL1rmpo Latency refers to a short period of delay (usually measured in milliseconds) between when an audio signal enters a system and when it emerges. I find there is a noticeable delay when playing faster phrases or chords on guitar and flam when drums are played though it.

This looks like a fairly generic digital build - I think all their pedals are the same in terms of components. They just put on a new avant-garde screen print and change the firmware per model. For the price, you would be far better off investing in digital plugins. Where are these PCB's made? China? I find it ironic that the company pretend to be a bunch of hipsters yet peddle lifeless digital platforms like this as opposed to analog circuitry.
