One additional suggestion, when cutting conduit, either buy a conduit reamer or use that little triangle on the back of your cutter to clean out the burrs after the cut. It gets rid of any sharp edges that can cut your wires.

@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
yeah! i did some research and i don't think a lot of people know it either! i think as a whole, easel is easier to use and I really like the fact that it has that giant database of projects other people have uploaded. its a great way to understand design layout. I also like the fact that you can tweak existing projects to fit your own needs. with the out of the box software recommended with the mpcnc (estlcam and repetier), they are two separate cam/cad programs while easel is all in one which i like as well. hopefully that made sense, i haven't had my coffee yet.
@mcroftcheck6 жыл бұрын
Another option if you stick with Marlin is Fusion 360. There are two post processors for F360 that output Marlin compatible gcode. CAD/CAM/Parametric Modeling all in one if you need it. Then use the output on an SD Card to drive the machine.

Great vid! I printed all the parts for the MPCNC about 2 years ago now so my dad could build it. Lucky for me, it sits in my shop now since he had a hard time messing with Etslcam; however, I didn't even know about the GRBL for Ramps firmware to make it compatible with Easel, that looks way easier to use for him. That firmware will probably be flashed tonight and we'll have to test it out. The only thing I wish I would have done was print all the parts with PETG for a bit more strength, the PLA has a few stress fractures after 2 years but still works great and is accurate.

That's a great video. Love how you embrace others to build even machines themselve. Just one thing, beside the joy of completing such a project: Have you ever calculate your spent lifetime and effort into the projects financial summary? Just want to point out (for followers). It's not because of saving money but for the joy of building stuff yourself and learning something on the way. :-) I myself, tbh, rather do/create WITH a machine instead of spending time'n'time setting up one. (yeah, call me lazy)
@GrazMakes5 жыл бұрын
Thanks you!!! Honestly I haven’t calculated it. I’m all about the journey over the destination so, for me at least, the more I can learn building/playing with the machine the more I love it. That being said, thanks for the question and I’m glad you dug the video!!!

One thing I don‘t get here is the problem with the diameter of the tubes. One way would be to buy the correct tube to keep the prints, or to reprint the parts and keep the 1“ tube. You did both, or did I got it wrong?

most big box stores in the us ONLY have the 23.4mm tubing. I could have purchased the proper tubing online, but with that cost and cost of shipping, i would have not saved that much money. re-printing the parts were my best option. thanks for watching!

Jeez. 150 hours to print times 2? I have been thinking of putting one of these together for a while. You are the first person I see on youtube to put one of these together with ABS instead of PLA. What was your experience printing these parts in ABS?...(Aside from having to print all the parts twice...heh) ABS tends to shrink a bit for me. I print on a homemade Prusa i3 with a heated bed and an Ikea lack table enclosure. In my experience, PLA prints tend to be more precise and usually more aesthetic... on the other hand, ABS parts come out stronger and are a bit more rugged. Did you find the tolerances on this build accommodate for some shrinkage? Then again I may just opt to print it all out in PETG...

Ok just watched the video, great job! C as n someone explain what the problem is with printing the 1" version?
@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
TheLeverHunter thank you! The first version I printed was the 25mm version which doesn't match the 1 inch emt sold in us stores. The reasoning is they measure the outside diameter. Print the 23.5mm version and use 3/4 conduit if you're in the us! Thanks for watching!

@@GrazMakes Ok so I am in the US and printed the 25.4mm kit. I was going to use 1" conduit is the conduit not 1" thick?
@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
thats exactly what I did. this is taken from the vicious website..."Please measure your rails before printing. 23.5mm fits 3/4″ EMT conduit in the US. Anywhere else you must physically measure first, some things are sold as Inside Dimension (ID) (conduit), or Outside Dimension (OD) (Tubing)." when i printed out the 25.4mm the parts we too big for the 1 inch emt. for a temporary fix i took painters tape and layered it on the emt until i had a snug fit. I did this so i could get used to the machine while i printed out the correct 23.5mm parts in the mean time. hope that help you out!

@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын

How do you stick the wood on the table... i din't see any holder!
@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
with my good looks and charm! just kidding. I actually hot glue 4 small pieces of square plywood around the thing I'm carving. it seems to do a good job of holding it down!

Does this work with the RAMBo Mini board that comes with the MPCNC?
@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
not that im aware. I'll have to do some research and see.
@acigar16 жыл бұрын
That's surprising since it's pretty much your only choice in board besides the regular RAMBo
@acigar16 жыл бұрын
Also, I would suggest adding this to your txt file: Download this repository (link), extract the zip file, and open the file grblForCyclone.ino from the Arduino IDE. Select the board you are using from the "Tools->Board" menu: If you are using RAMPS, select "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560".

Is it possible to run the same x carve software for the vicious1 low rider?
@GrazMakes6 жыл бұрын
not 100% sure whats running the low rider. i could contact ryan from the official site and ask. thanks for watching!

Would really be worth it considering how much more the lowrider can be scaled.

Great video! How are you liking your MPCNC? What size is yours? Actual size vs area it can cut? Anything you would do differently now? I am printing the parts. Still not sure how large to make mine.
@GrazMakes5 жыл бұрын
I still really like the thing! i expanded the size to 2'x4'. i forget what the actual cut size is, Im pretty sure there is a converter on the official page. other than printing the right parts out the first time, I don't think i wouldn't have done anything differently. thanks for watching!
