A weekend in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia
Yerevan is the capital of Armenia, a country located in the Caucasus, bordering Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran. It is largest city of Armenia as well as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities.

In this video, you will see Yerevan's most important sights and tourist attractions, including the following:
Republic Square can be considered the main square of Yerevan. The Government House, the History Museum and the National Gallery, the Marriott Hotel and several other government buildings are located on this huge square. Originally designed by Alexander Tamanyan in 1924, Republic Square is the favorite hangout of the locals. With its unique pink neoclassical buildings and the reflecting pool, Republic Square can easily be considered Yerevan’s architectural highlight. What I found remarkable about this square was the unified architectural style - all buildings share the same pink-ish and yellow-ish neoclassical design.
The Cascade is a staircase that connects Yerevan’s center (Kentron) with the Monument neighborhood. It consists of multiple levels and a total of 572 steps. Apart from its architectural magnificence, the Cascade offers sweeping views of the city and, on clear days, mighty Mount Ararat in the background.
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is an arts museum located within the Cascade complex. It offers a variety of exhibitions and dozens of modern and contemporary sculptures by well-known international sculptors. The sculptures are scattered around Cascade Park, the green area in the lower section of the Cascade complex.

i am Turkish. i visited Armenia for 1 week last year. 2 things surprised me. 1. all people i met, eventough knowing that i was Turkish, everybody was very kind to me. Never confronted any problem. From airport police who check my passport to people in restaurants. Very nice and helpful were they to me. Thanx Armenia. Never treated badly in Armenia. My girlfriend Anahit whom i visited that met on Facebook and her family was very hospitated(now she is my fiancee hoping to marry soon). 2. İs our food and people mentality are very similar and so is our cultures. Thanks for everything Armenia and Armenians(specially vartuhi, Anna, manu, Vartan, Armine, Silva) and your beer Kilikya is very good. Thanks Armenians for your kind and warm hospitations

I love Yerevan, and I love this video, but I think it might have been better to show more of other parts of Armenia, such as Garni, (one of the last remaining pre-Christian pagan temples) Geghard monastery, Tatev, the thousands years old Echmiadzin cathedral, etc. Erebuni, the oldest part of the city from when it was first founded 2800 years ago, is also really great! Also keep in mind that the region Armenia is in isn’t quite the Caucasus, the region has been called the “Armenian Highlands” for thousands of years (the rest of it is in part of Turkey due to the great loss of land after the genocide). Understandably it probably sounds crazy, but it is true. The Eastern portion of Armenia (historical Armenia) was brought into the label “Caucasus” for reasons of convenience when it was under the control of the Russian Empire.

So, its name relevant old nations of there (turkic nations: turks, azerbaijani people). armenians were brought there later and started customizing the special names.
