I find it interesting she keeps saying in interviews she identifies as Afro Latina but never says Puerto Rican. I’m Puerto Rican and a lot of us are mixed with Indian, European and Black. Even after doing an Ancestry DNA I found I have Italian, Greek, Portuguese blood. I still say I’m Puerto Rican.

Oh come on, you must clearly know that identification depends on many other social and cultural aspects, like the everyday opportunities and living experiences you have depending on the colour of your skin... Specially, yet not only, in Latin America...

@@majopgalli as a Puerto Rican man, if I achieved the success she is having. In interviews I wouldn’t have a problem saying I’m Puerto Rican or half Puerto Rican. She was born in North Carolina so she’s American even being half Puerto Rican because Puerto Ricans are American too.

@@majopgalli thank you! Unfortunately the way you phenotypically appear is how people identify you. Yes, many Latin Americans come from various races, but I am assuming that Adriane has been treated as a black woman which may shape her point of view and why she self id’s as Afro Latina.
