Curiously... what if you, instead of the logical interface to nowhere, you use a physical interface? Would you still have recursive routing?

yes, it could still happen. recursive routing is when a router thinks to get to the other side of the logical tunnel, I physically take the logical tunnel. That is wrong, to get to the other side of the tunnel, i physically take the PHYSICAL interface. that is why it is important to always have a route to the physical destination in your routing table. Static route would be your best choice.

I just wanted to simulate a recursive routing in Boson netsim 10 and it crashed :D I believe it worked )

Michael Colun thank you, simulators are not a good tool for recursive routing. Gns3 is the best

Cheers, i noticed that, i am using it for labs and i found it a bit time consuming trying to find a compatible IOS image for GNS. I will try it in the future though, now a have to focus on my ICND2 this week ;)

Michael Colun I have found that 2691 or a 7200 are the only IOSs I need for GNS3
