This number really spoke to me. It gives strong broadway vibes that I imagined this being performed on a stage. It reminded me of Dear Evan Hansen in terms of feeling invisible (not the lying about being friends with someone who ended themselves part ofc)

I lived this. My wife moved away when she was in high school. We never had a chance to go to dances or dates as we grew up. We reconnected and have been married for a couple of years. But i remember looking into the sky and wondering if she was looking up thinking of me. Sigh… im looking at her and those years of being without her still hurt. This song hits all of that for me with every note.

I don’t know if I felt it during the episode but by the end I could definitely tell that they’re setting them up as a potential couple (perhaps a love triangle with Wally) and I’m not sure how I feel about it 🤔

@@IWishICouldThinkOfAGoodHandle Well the other thing is they introduce her as an afterthought, and the other thing is if Buddy's family was the country club type, I doubt they would have black neighbors. Southern California is segregated by city/neighborhood. Maybe there's an explanation, maybe there isn't. It's a really odd hodgepodge and I don't think the writers have a really deep understanding of the time.

Yes! Absolutely. It so was there! But I think Hazel came in and quietly stole our hearts. Shanel Bailey is awesome! Haters and losers (just like those club people) may not like this show (we know why and what their use of woke reveals) but we also know what happened to the dinosaurs. This song is kind of a more uplifting "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise)". Beautiful 💗

I definitely saw it, especially when he was all like "Just when I thought this night couldnt get any worst" when she said she hated the town or something like that. It was as if he felt bad that he possibly made the situation worst for her. It was obvious that he liked her. At first I thought this show was gonna be trash (especially from the trailer) but I want to see how Hazel's story is gonna unfold. If it wasnt for her, I wouldnt have even given this show a chance

For me this song really reminds me that even if you loose friends, and you grow up or move on, you still have the same sky. Nothing really has changed and that everything is okay! It gives me hope! Also over my apartment, Orion and the little dipper is always their when I walk home at night. So this song hits harder because of that!

I think as of the end of season 1, Buddy has some work to do and needs to figure out who he is and what he wants, as well as what kind of person he wants to be. I think at the end of the season/series, Hazel is better off with Wally, but how long that lasts is another question.
