It's been talk about some washer/shims that supposedly should't be on the diffs on theese trucks(104009/104019 and so on) I'm i wrong? If so, exactly where are they? I have one of those on order, should show up tomorrow if im lucky 🙂

Nice. Just bought my first real RC and wanted to learn the maintenance on them. Definitely this will get done, asap.

Cheers John.. didn't know u had another channel.. im going to enjoy going through them. I'm rebuilding by 144010 atm, so this one about the diffs, and the other one about the gear puller are very apt... yes, i couldn't get the pinion off and I completely wrecked it trying.. new one ordered, but I've also got a dremmel ordered so hopefully I'll be able to save the motor.

Can you use any multipurpose lithium grease for the diffs? Or is it specific brands/products that are recommended?
@JohnRobinsonRC10 ай бұрын
Hello. You can use any brand but it MUST be white. The white lithium grease is different from the other types and can be used without issues on rc cars. The other types can damage plastics, silicone etc. So just make sure it's white lithium grease. 👍

Great video. I bought 104019, and I have removed both diffs. Diffs inside were fully greased to my surprise, but still very tight. I have removed one of the washers from each of them to make them work smooth. As for diff housing, there was no grease at all….

Yes found my differentials to be very tight on the 104009 even after lithium grease. No shims on that I could see.

When greasing these you dont really need to fully dis assemble, just put grease on the top put the cap on no need to put the screws back in and rotate the drive cups, that forces the grease into the diff, just repeat until you have your desired amount in

to give you a little more context into why they don't grease the diffs: is not because they want to save money that's obviously not the reason, but more like they have a 15 person or 22 person assembly line personal , each person is in charge of 1 or 2 assembly procedures at max then it moves to the next person so on and so forth etc... they have a time limit per station, if they take more time than what is instructed they get penalized first with a verbal warning, second one as well then the third time they change them from position because he is performing extremely poorly, let's changes seats you are sitting down in that assembly line and you only have 17 seconds to remove 4 screws , open up the diff , remove the gears , grease the diffs , arrange the gears properly without damaging the thin washers that go on each end , putting grease on the right spots , assemble everything back together and put those 4 screws back , you think they have enough time before someone comes and yells at them for taking so much time on making it perfect . i hope i shine a light 🕯️ on some context , instead of saying why wltoys doesn't grease the diffs you should call the company's cfo or ceo or who knows who and put a complaint with them not the workers lmfao poor guys is all im gonna say on my behalf. you want your diffs grease wltoys is not the brand for you go for a more expensier brand with more resources and more man power and more dedication to small details.
