Some of the worst fish and chips I have tried, undercooked batter and full of grease, would I have them again? NO

At the end of the day it’s a review, nothing wrong with the actual fish or the chips, it’s the batter on the fish which was undercooked 👍🏻

If it's greasy it's more than likely to be because the oil wasn't at the right temp when they started cooking it great review btw Andy 😊

Andy they don't give a Toss for quality they took your £20 plus . They made their £16 plus profit out of you two and they say up your's mate who's having the last laugh. HI Andy Most of the Fish is farmed these days and they are fed toxic pellet food and Potatoes are soaked in a chemical solution before frying No wonder many people are ill Have you got access to local fish from the fishing boats and fry your own ?

Ignore some of these comments because at the end of the day you are doing a review.. it’s easy for some to say take it back but that’s not how reviews are done.. so on that note.. well done mate and appreciate your honesty… yes absolutely agree with you the batter should be nice and crispy and crunchy not oily.. and the portion of chips are disappointing.. I’ve done a review on fish and chips in fakenham and mr chips were the best in my opinion.. cost me 11.50 for a large fish and large chips and 2 pots of curry sauce and I kid you not the fish I had to chop in half because it was huge..and the chips could of served 3 people easily.. if you ever come to fakenham I’d love to meet you personally and actually buy you a large fish for chips and let you review it yourself and be honest as you always are 👍 good reviews as always..

The price that we pay for Fish & Chips nowadays is that you expect the quality to be there; sadly there also seem to be more and more Fish & Chip shops cutting down on the amount of chips that they actually dish out which is a shame also 😔

That place has always been underwhelming and I've never figured out why. Perfect location but I think they've been through a fair few owners in the last ten years. A shame.

The batter looked horrible Andy not like that haddock you had before . Last week I was in Morrisons and had a large breakfast for a treat asked for the bacon and sausage to be well done when it arrived the sausage looked like it had come straight out of the packet and cold the wife said shall I take it back I said no don’t like to complain just in case I got someone the sack but never again will I eat there again. 👍👍👍

I have worked in restaurants for many years,and I can tell you that you should always complain,the chef/kitchen manager can’t watch everyone every second,and he/she needs to know if the food isn’t cooked properly,no line cook is going to be fired just because someone complained,however if there are lots of complaints then a line cook deserves to be let go.Now because you didn’t complain they lost a customer and if that cook continues to not cook food properly then that will loose more customers.Always give the restaurant the opportunity to correct mistakes,no manage wants dissatisfied customers.

It amazes me these food places that are serving up rubbish and charging top dollar, stay in business as long as they do. It's madness, it's like a car dealership handing over a new car that's got dents and scratches all over it. No way will customers recieving that standard of service go back again. Good review mate 👍

I cooked fish and chips for tea last night I made some beer batter and cooked some thick chips in my air fryer the fish was lovely and crispy and the chips were yummy took a bit of faf but we really enjoyed it for a change .

You are far too honest Fat Andy , 4/10 was really far too kind for the price paid . i do hope and pray you are okay i had fish like this very recently and it was the same but i got very sick from it took 2 days to recover so i understand and respect that you wanted to make a video from that but its not worth getting food poisoned again you are too honest and kind person tell your wife she is spot on and respect to her a woman is never EVER wrong and this video is all the proof you'll ever need , lol's Thumbs up from me Andy Legend : )

I can't eat them when they are dripping, I know it will make me bad. Maybe they are doing what some of our's do where they hire student staff who haven't cooked in their lives, so they don't know to watch the temperatures and timing.

Andy, that looked horrendous mate, & of course you don't want to leave a bad review at a local business.. Personally I would have gave it a lower score. Somewhere I'd really like you to try is Well Well Well, The Lowestoft Bath House, which was close to where you parked... They would welcome your review, The Macmaster reviewed it a while ago, he had the Haddock and chips & it looked immense!!! Possibly the best in the area mate, absolutely fantastic! Yes it's restaurant prices, but the quality so good! 👍

Andy,you should have taken it back,you were only outside,and show them the raw batter,oil too cold,and not cooked long enough.English people are big complainers,but only to each other,you all need to complain to the people making the mistakes.When I arrived in America,on my days off I didn’t eat as I was so shy I was afraid to go into a restaurant,that didn’t last to long,I watched Americans,and thought I’m no different,and quickly got over my shyness.Now not only will I complain,sometimes I will tell the server straight up how I want it served.Andy you pay good money the food should be fresh,and well cooked.😊

I had fish and chips in my local. absolutely horrendous. Chips loads of black ones and dry. And fish seemed undercooked. Went back few days later as had ordered for my neighbour so told them about the meal. No apology nothing just stood there. I said how about a discount on this meal. No. I said I will pay as its for my neighbour but I will never come in here again. It's happened a few times. Not even an apology which was bad enough. Loads of young ones more Interested in there phones and hygiene isn't the best. Never again.

@@fatandy After all said and done you paid them a good amount of money for something that was partially raw. If they can't take complaints or constructive criticism then they shouldn't be in business. They should be able to learn from their mistakes and provide a better service.

That looks almost like the discussing batter I had on my delivery put the fish in the oven to cookit again for 20mins longer it was like sludge 1 out of 10 will not be buying from them again 14 pound fo fish and chips newport how are they still in business I don't know

@@fatandy if it was good the price wouldnt have been bad, but the fact they cooked it badly isnt forgivable. Its a chip shop, they have 1 job, and they cant even do that right...
