It’s good to see someone talking about Russian Rat snakes specifically- and Asian rat snakes in general- I’ve always been interested in keeping them but not many people have been talking about them. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Several people have told me there’s info all over the place and I don’t like to call people liars but….I don’t see it often

I fell in love with the beauty snake. I have a subspecies. They are so curious and active. They are very active while handling but they never bit me. I always see them in their terrarium. They are so fun to watch. Soon I’m going to build them a big and high terrarium because they love to climb.

Great selection! If I was 30 years younger & not living in an apartment complex. :-/. In the 70s I once had many many snakes…. at the time mostly wild caught although my kingsnakes & garter snakes bred. All except my black rat snake local (So Cal)

Beautiful specie. Netherlands are only cold enough so that snow isnt melting right away. Its like around -5C max in the winter according to wikipedia. Here in east russia, north china its easily -30C. I bet that snake would be invasive anywhere, except, perhaps, arctic circle. I got a couple of shrenkii in my garden, they are seen quite often, one even got to my house once - mom caught it hanging from a window opening. And i know for a fact i also got elaphe dione, but i never saw t myself, only when my cat caught them, im guessing they are more cautious.

Jim at Chromasaurs in Aurora, CO. has a TON of rat snakes; Russians, Blacks, Everglades, Grays, Rhinos. I got my Ghost Hondo and Black Milk from him. Solid dude and high quality animals.

Best hands down Asian ratsnakes for pets is the Diones Ratsnakes Mollendorfi I have and would only recommend for intermediate keepers

I'm in the process of researching snakes cuz I want one later thank you for the info I'm leaning closer to a rat snake so the video help with my selection as a lil tip for your videos talk a lil faster because alot of people are easily distracted and lose interest in long slow videos I had to speed up x1.5 to watch cuz I wanted the information

Thanks for tip. I tend to tongue tie and stutter when I get going so that’s usually why I slow down a bit and I want to make sure I get the information as clear as possible but I’ll still try

So you said the Russian rat are docile and good for beginners or intermediate? I'm intermediate to advanced but prefer docile
@JzsReptiles Жыл бұрын
They are larger and like cooler temps so it can put them in intermediate but I would classify them for beginners for people who research their needs
