@@BootsandJeansRiders someone gave me there go pro I think hero back in January. They had never opened the package. I did charge it up, however I quickly found out that it was a basic antique camera. No screen and permanent battery. At the time I was going to give it a try. I decided not to. I just relied on my ancient mini dvd recorder. The way I can monitor what I am recording. In your opinion what may be a good camera to start with.

This is a really tough topic for me. I try my best to produce the best audio quality that my gear provides. Now the sound level and background noise are problematic for me to gauge. I'm partially deaf and struggle with the audio of my content. My best guess is, many have quit watching my content because of my poor audio production. Great topic and legit rant!

Interesting topic Rich.. I am now editing a video on the Cardo Packtalk edge mic Isolation system. It works a little to good. No Ambient noise. Interesting point on the purple panda and Sony lapel mics. Great info Rich. I have been waiting for a video like this thanks dude. I use an external recorder. Tascam dro5x.

Hey Rich… yeah, we were thinking about getting the Cardo Palk edge also. But since I cannot control the gain, I decided not to get it. Hopefully they can update it with gain control. then I will switch to that over Sena any day.

Thumbs up for sure on this video... well I give a thumbs up on them all but you know what I mean lol. I'm in a constant battle with audio, hence the reason i do a lot of voiceovers. Most day I can salvage some audio but it's still crappy. Got to go, time to search for a voice recorder with options😊

Hey Tony, yep, audio is a problem for everybody but once you get it down pat, it’s all good. Just don’t let your music background be louder than your voice. We used to use the zoom digital recorder, but the problem was we had to stop just to start recording. This is why I like going directly into the GoPro.

I think one of the things that annoys me the most about audio on videos is when the volume changes. IE: voice is one volume, and then music comes on much louder!!

I am going to try your method and order that mic, I have been trying the Hollyland Lark M1 and it sounds OK but get too much breathing noise when in my helmet too close to my mouth, thanks for the info .

Audio kills me. I use DJi wireless. Can't figure out where to set my gain on the transmitter and receiver to get good audio. HELP!

I use DJI wireless as well. I set my gains on the transmitter and receiver to -12 (lowest possible setting). Then I can adjust my levels in post. Hope this helps!
