Look at the lead he has at the end of his rod, it already bent down like he has a fish on it, when it hit the water, the spool keeps rolling until it hits the bottom, so if it has a lighter jig on it, from that distance, he would have had a hell of a backlash.

That's how it is, multicolor braid has been a thing for a whole, it's purpose is to tell you roughly what depth your fishing at at a glance
