This win happened at the start of great division within the UK. Whether or not she was the best baker etc is one debate which no one can fully and truthfully answer. However, she has been one of the few women of colour who has done well and inspired a lot of (particularly Asian) women that they too could achieve this level of success. It is sad that a lot of hatred appears to stem of racial prejudice… totally ignoring other aspects which have made this person popular such as her charm, wit and intelligence. Funny how no one slates Nigella Lawson who is the product of nepotism and from wealth but not a trained chef… why? Because she fulfills the western notion of beauty and dark skin is considered a problem ?

If anyone actually watches the whole series again, you can see that the judges were bias in her favour, the judges always tell contestants you must bake what is the recipe brief Week 6, She came 5th out of 7 in the technical challenge, which immediately puts her in the ''drop zone'' Then the brief was make 48 filled volovants, she didn't manage to make one, she made a few pastry cases, which had collapsed and a bowl of filling. Everyone else in week 6 fulfilled the brief, she was the only one who didn't, the judges even filled her pastry cases for her, so they could taste them, That is unfair on the other contestants. She could have gone several times in the previous weeks, but hung on by the skin of her teeth. She wasn't a bad baker, but she was not the best baker there by any means, Ian was a very accomplished baker, the win should have been his.

I watched it every week and never once did it seem like she was getting special treatment. The point is, is that she got better as the weeks went on and that's how she won in the final. She grew in confidence and skill, but she had the most important element down from day 1 and that was flavour. So she didnt meet the brief, the judges obviously felt like she made something good enough to continue and at that point in the programme there was room for that decision.

Although Nadia is more certainly a talented Baker and deserved to be in the final, I question the judging considering the simplicity of her works. Using marshmallow and rice crispies as your primary base in your signature peacock was not a fair comparison to her competitors baked cakes. Additionally, the marshmallow fondat used on her final wedding cake was again a shortcut that magically got hailed by the judges. Shortcuts like those in the final by any competitors in the final should be penalized, not rewarded as was done in season 3.

The great British bake off 2015 BS. The winner was supposed to be kicked off, long ago in the competition between her and Alvin. Alvin completed and presented his work according to the "brief" given to all the contestants at the beginning of that weekend/episode. She did not complete the "brief" and presented something else you would find in a Bangla restaurant. The male judge decided wrongly to keep her in the competition based on "flavour". Shame on him. I am shocked to see the contestants not practising basic health habits in this food industry. Frequent washing of hands? Not wearing gloves? Baking with rings on their finger? Touching their face constantly. Thank you cameramen/women. Future GBBO should only accept contestants who have gone through & obtained the food industry relevant Health & Safety card. Its ridiculous to see how dirty these contestants were.
