I don't think people have figured it out, because everyone just stays in full burner all the time, but. If you reduce the throttle to 0% you can literally do a 180 in a second or two. It's insane.

I'm using WTRTI to view the turn rate, and it's not that it directly affects the turn time, basically what it is is that the thrust provided is so high that the speed in certain turns from staying in full after is enough to cause a you turn arc to be different. While this is true for all planes, the F-16s massive TWR is so much that the acceleration will increase your turn radius by a noticeable amount, as it actively is pushing against the direction you end up wanting the plane to go, and due to the compression the plane has at high speeds compounding this issue, there is a certain range of speeds where for 1 turn fighting where it can be favorable to drop your speed, while this is technically true for all planes, and is akin to how props adjust their throttle in rate fights when on the vertical axis, most planes TWR isn't high enough to make up for the loss in a flat turn, but again this is the F-16, it has the acceleration to make up for it. So while not something you should use in every situation, for one turn fights or fights happening between 570-670 km/h, there are situations where it is favorable to drop throttle. Ultimately it's just part of throttle control you should be doing anyways on most planes, it's just that on the F-16 it's more pronounced in how it comes across in more scenerios.

Throttle control has always been 1:1 with turn fighting and any given maneuver, you modulate it throughout. I've seen guy win fights they shouldn't be winning regularly by 70% of their bandwidth dedicated to throttle control i.e watching their speedo's and throttle control. The sh*tty thing right now is watching enemy nose to see if they get lead on you, nose is way off, they miss by hundreds of meters in pure lead, yet you still get pilot sniped, because of server desync.

Hey lee, could you revisit the yak 141? Ive been having an amazing time with it running full IR missile load, especially with the 35g buff to the r27's. Having a competitive flight model (similar to the mirage 2k but with higher acceleration tbh) with good missiles is just SO nice right now

Honestly id rather run standard flares or flares reinforced at top tier, you really dont need chaff because most if not all radars are PD and if you fly low enough youre pretty much immune to SARH missiles, the R-73 and AIM-9M are such a pain in the ass to deal with you really need the extra flares

Yeah I run that too but I often see Lee sticking to a medium altitude or pull up into prime SARH altitude and believe it or not the chaff really can piss off the enemies radar especially when you are notching, and when you break their lock you just gotta hold off for like 3-5 seconds so the fox 1 loses track.

The flare changes have worked beautifully for me as an F-5E main. A lot of hotter jets like F-4s and Tornados are an almost guaranteed kill if you get a missile off within a mile or less now. Before hand, it kinda felt like the AIM-9J's were as flare resistant as R-60's, only working if the player didn't see or hear the missile in time to flare it.

@@martijn9568 first of all aircraft in game are pulling their maximum structural limit Gs, it's not like gaijin is giving them a 1.5 multiplier (the 1.5 value is mostly used by the airforces as a safe margin). Second what I am complaining about happens at low speeds (where G limit does not matter). F-16 beating a Mirage2000 (which is literally a delta) and a MiG29 (it's close to an hornet in terms of AoA) should simply not happen

Let's be honest, top tier flight models are ace combat level right now. You either fly fast or turn fast, that's a common jet dilemma. No plane or pilot can withstand 14 g load. F16 is rated to 9g, mig 29 is limited to 7.5g supersonic and 9g subsonic, and that's only with light a-a loadout, if a/g munitions, fuel tanks are present, you should flip the g limiter to a/g mode (6-7g if I remember correctly), trained pilots can hold 9g for some time. I'm not against exceeding this limit a bit, say 10-11 g at the absolute maximum, but anything above doesn't make sense

Very questionable imo. The AAM-3 did not enter service until the early 90s and the AJ was a project from the mid-late 70s. Same reason why it gets AIM-7F instead of M, better leave it like this and make room for more advanced japanese fighters imo

Considering this is the only F-16 I have, I absolutely love the F-16AJ. Wonder what the future for it looks like though, since it’s not too realistic. Although, there are quite a few things in game that have like 1 irl model, or carry something it couldn’t in reality.

It probably won't go anywhere since until we get the later F-2 it will be the only plane to be able to carry Air to Ground ordinance, since F-15J and XF-2 prototypes couldn't carry guided air to ground ordinance So unless we get a subtree like Thailand that's all japan can get. And before you suggest south Korea Gaijin sees adding that to Japan like adding Ukraine to the USSR tree rn

F5c is good has ir missiles and is a very good dog fighter. The f4s is a more agile f4 with radar missiles and gets regularly stuck up in top tier. For this reason I would recommend the f5

F5C is a great dogfighter but pretty much every game you will be competing with atleast 2 of your direct upgrades (F5E's). Also its missiles are doo doo. The F4S is the best Phantom for the US however still gets sucked into 12.3 with no all aspect missiles and a non-modern RWR. It works for grinding and the 7F PD combo is still good but don't expect to be getting anything make than a 3k very often.

I have 167 matches in RB with the F-4S and only 1, ONE, of those was a downtier. All 166 were at 12.0 and 12.3 when that was added(the downtier was match 164). The A6E has no place outside of Sim or Ground. Just stick with the F-5C like everyone does. It has the highest reward rates anyway. 1,000 RP per min of playtime in a match. No not activity time, play time.
