Great video Tim!!! Ive ordered a sidewinder,should be here tomorrow.also bought the chameleon 17ft telescopic whip:) when you work 20m-10m does it work better just with the whip into triple mag without the coil? Many thanks mate.73

If you are able to adjust the whip and you can safely mount it parked up on the car then it will be more efficient without a base coil. A little more so as you move down in frequency. For 40m then IF you are using the car as a mount I wouldn’t recommend using all that whip and the coil as it would cause a weak spot at the point they screw in together mechanically. Shorten the whip a little bit. I’d recommend a triple mag or a good permanent car mount

You’re welcome Steve. At 100 watts with some cq and some search and pounce I’d say around 6 hours or more.

Hi David with the Slidewinder just a tuner at radio end for 10m as the antenna is a little long (resonant around 25 mhz)

Hi Tim I use the same battery as you do you charge it through the supplied charger? I bypass the internal bms by using Victron lithium charger that charges in a fraction of the time of the standard battery

Interesting Eddie- I use the standard one and a charge from a pretty discharged state does take 5-6 hours
