I fell asleep, with headphones on. and somehow the "Hello! Obscuirites in miniatures!" part did NOT wake me up. So here I am re-watching XD

Excellent. Methinks I shall partake of this goodness and order. The male version was pretty good and used it to convert to sci fi.. Might do the same here.

Totally agree with the prospector kit. Especially if they come with mules.

I'd go full Pete the Wargamer and convert them sci-fi, something Firefly meets 40K.

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature And you know I'll be watching. I am with you regarding the bandidos. I want some outlaws with crossed bandoleers and big sombreros and equally big mustaches.

As usual with plastic kits, I'm interested in the kitbash potential of this kit (and its male counterpart). I'd really want to use them in a steampunk or eldritch horror game, but I can't think of a good model-neutral one right now. So instead, I'd want to customize these in a "space western" style for something like Stargrave, like you suggested. Among other things, I'm thinking of swapping in some alien heads or cyborg arms, maybe give one or two of them a sci-fi pistol of some kind. Conversely, I could see using the heads from this kit on armored sci-fi troopers, for that old action-movie hero look. You know the type, wearing full power armor, about to face down a horde or aliens or robots, but won't go into battle without their lucky hat. Sadly, I have other projects right now, so this one will have to wait. One of these days, I'll build the warband of my dreams. One of these days.

Why didn't I think of alien cowboys (and cowgirls)? That's going to end up on my short list of projects to be...

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature Going to be honest, I was kind of surprised when I got to the end of the video and you hadn't tried some unusual head or arm swap. Seems like exactly your sort of thing. I actually decided to do some looking around for potential spare heads. Kings of War Naiads might be a good start, either for space opera or for a "Shadow over Innsmouth" styled fish-person warband. Stargrave also has some options, as does the Broken Infantry sprue from Maelstrom's Edge. Wargames Atlantic has an upgrade sprue that has some cybernetic arms, too. I've also got a bit of an idea for a gunslinging spider lady conversion, but I'm keeping that plan under my hat for now.

Only reason I didn't go wild messing with them was due to not having many pieces- yet. Once the boxes are available at retail, perhaps we'll need to do an addendum video. When I have very limited quantities to goof around with I get hesitant to really start messing with things. Plus now that you mention the Broken, I should have some somewhere...
@matthewbro32 жыл бұрын
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature Ah, should've realized that you only had the one sprue. It makes sense that you wouldn't want to test kitbash potential in that case. I really hope you put out that addendum video. Also, if you do have the Broken around, I'd be curious to see your opinion on them. Had my eye on them as kitbash fodder for a while.

I wouldn't mind some- although at least the Wild West Exodus ones were pretty nice if you need a plastic option to tide you over. They're a little large, and not very modular, but quite detailed (and a million little pieces since they were manufactured at the same factory that does Kingdom Death).
