Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) watch it you have the same top ones I have, I put Apothecary in the number 2 or 3 spot for 2023. Also unwanted undead was really good I put it a little higher then Solo and wrong way to use healing magic.

I was about to say out loud just what Fantasy anime could possibly take the number 1 fantasy slot from Frieren Beyond The Journey?? Than he said Solo Leveling and I just nodded in disgruntled agreement... I can't think of a single God tier series surpassing S.L. At all Can any of you? Im drawing a blank here.

Not even close. Solo Leveling is a 5 at best. Journeys End gives great pacing and character development, which is exactly where SL fails.

Ah yes, because Bungo Stray Dogs came up with the idea in all of literature and not the millions of plays on the subject or poems. His point was about how it was a unique character motivation in an isekai story.

Osamu Dazai was a real person. He's a novelist who was known for his representation of depression and loneliness in his work, as well as suicidal ideation. It's not new because he was a real person. The Dazai from Bungo Stray Dogs is based on the protagonist of his semi-autobiographical work "No Longer Human," which also happens to be the name of Dazai's ability.

@@johnd7760 Yeah, 1-2 great ones once a year...as opposed to what? The days of Media Blasters? Once upon a time anime was saturated with cheap dubs that no one gave a shit about. We'd get about 1-2 good ones then as well. The only thing that has changed is anime's mainstream appeal and budgets. What's good is good and what's crap is crap. We've always gotten a mix of masterpieces and sewage, that's the same for any medium if you've been around and paying attention. So yeah, it definitely means something. It means you and OP both are a bit on the slow side and probably in your teens. So much like him...do better kid.

Ahhh Solo Leveling I was already reading the light novels when it was announced that it was getting an anime adaptation. And when I got to the truth behind Jinwoo's powers I became totally bored with the whole story. I have been watching the anime though and it's ok but the changes they made could use some explaining as to why they were done. It is some subtle stuff but it changes a lot of the motivations behind Jinwoo. Some of it I kinda get because it's kinda dark stuff. I'll say this though if the anime never goes past the Jeju Island Raid it will be a good story. After that though.................................

@@Migraine7 A bit of a spoiler alert for those that have not read it but the story's title is Solo Leveling not Solo Unlock. Which is what it really was. And it ruined the premise of the whole thing for me. Don't get me wrong up until the end with book 8 it was OK but it just didn't have the same feel. And even going back and rereading the books it just doesn't have the same feel as when I read them the first time thinking he was actually leveling up which he really isn't.

@@induralfrosthelm5146 Except he is. Leveling was literally the point of the whole thing. Without the leveling, no human body could ever hold that power and Jinwoo as a person is the reason he gets to keep those powers.

@@LupineShadowOmega I don't necessarily disagree with your point but every choice associated with "leveling" that Jinwoo made was pointless. The process was little more than pumping him with more and more mana to prepare his body to take up the full power of the Shadow Monarch. He could have put his stats anywhere and the end result would have been the same. He didn't even really get a choice as far as jobs. Every skill he uses was chosen for him ahead of time and dropped in his lap as needed. Anything he may have had some choice in was already calculated ahead of time by the previous Shadow Monarch. It wasn't even luck that got him the "player" status at the end of the double dungeon. He was chosen by the Shadow Monarch to replace him. Leveling isn't just about the fantasy of getting stronger it's about the choices on the adventure and Jinwoo was robbed of all of them.

It was boring from the start, people are just simping for a cool guy and hot, cool looking skill, thats it, solo levelling is garbage, i was waiting this anime for so long but I regreat it, at least this is what I think about the first season, the second will be better? Chance meaning "something that happens unpredictably without discernible human intention or observable cause"- according to Merriam Webster. Although he said he couldn't beat that armor guy you were talking about, maybe, just maybe, he had a chance? Or maybe not just about chance cause 'luck' is also in the dictionary. But my point is he probably **thought** he couldn't beat the armor guy, *but* he had a **chance** to, he just didn't know it. I don't mean you any harm or anything, just getting my thoughts out here. But again, I haven't watched or read solo leveling and probably never will, I am not an expert, and this is just my opinion regarding this topic
