I have Jade City on Kindle but couldn’t resist picking it up on audio too after seeing it was on offer. Thanks for the recommendation!

Great video! Jade City is so good on audio and it was interesting to hear you struggled with Michael Kramer’s narration - I did too, and wasn’t sure if it was the book or him. Might give Sanderson another go. Andy Serkis narration of Lord of the Rings is amazing and I personally highly recommend it!

Ah yes I want to try the Andy Serkis narration... and glad I'm not alone in nit love Michael Kramer

I always have Kramer on higher speed! His inflection is odd too.

My favourite fantasy is The Witcher, also probably the only fantasy that I've consumed in the last decade (big fan of the games, books beautifully enhance the experience and vice versa). Audiobooks are masterfully narrated by Peter Kenny, one of my favourite narrators.

Ooo yes Peter Kenny did a great job

Listening to The First Law books narrated by Steven Pacey is the best audiobook experience by far.

Thank you for the recommendations. I think you might enjoy the "Rivers of London" urban fantasy series. Excellent stories with an outstanding narrator. Happy reading 😀

I very highly recommend Joe Abercrombie's First Law series on audio. Stephen Pacey might be the best narrator I've ever heard. That and it's also my favorite fantasy series.

I've heard such good things about the audio versions of those. Pacey narrated a horror book (Let the Right One In) that I really loved

@@TheShadesofOrange I had no idea that was even based on a book, but I loved the original movie. *sighs, adds to TBR*

Thank you for this video. I find fantasy audio books difficult to follow sometimes and all these sound great. I’m especially interested in Black Sun, Jade City, and Phoenix Extravagant.

Yeah I mostly prefer to read fantasy but these ones worked well on audio

I am starting to read book 3 of The Greenbone Saga … now after I am done with series I will listen to the audiobook

I hope you enjoy them

I have listened to Sword of Kaigen and the sequel to Poppy War and do think both were better as an audiobook than a physical book. I've listened to Jade Setter of Janloon (not Jade City), but not sure if I preferred it over reading it.

Yeah I definitely think the narration uplifted the story. And I loved the Jade Trilogy but didn't like that novella very much so it might not have been the narration

I super appreciate this. I always go through audiobooks so fast that i need more recommendations. Ive also loved the original reader from Good Dragon's Finish Last. His name is Vikas Adam.

I've always loved the completionist chronicles too. It's very DnD if you like that.

Read Black Sun and it was somewhat difficult to follow. It sounds like with voice actors this would be a good experience in audiobook format.

Yes the performances really brought the book to life for me

The narrator for the U.K. version of Name of the Wind Rupert Degas is even better than Nick Podehl - imo
