Jimmy Buffett isn't really country, but you do have to hear "Wasting Away in Margaritaville" to get that reference from this song.
@kurtsaxton8232 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what you think is country, born in Pascagoula Mississippi and alot of his songs you won't get the full meaning of unless you are from the Gulf Coast, he has a huge catalog of music, and a lot of it does focus on the beachcomber lifestyle, but he is as Southern as you can get.
@pageribe2399Ай бұрын
@@kurtsaxton823I agree totally. I, too, grew up along the Gulf Coast.

@@pageribe2399 I used to cut Jimmy's aunt's grass in Pass Christian when I was a teenager. My friend's dad was actually one of his teachers for his short stint at Southern Miss. I still live on the Mississippi Coast and pretty much everybody down here has somebody that either knows him or knows a family member. A lot of people don't realize where Jimmy buffett's actually from he's not from Florida which a lot of people think he is, I can see you understand and it doesn't get any more Southern than the coast down here. And you can definitely hear a little bit of country in a lot of his music.

I only know Jimmy Buffet because of my best friend from high school. She has a weird love of jimmy. Weird because he was more than half our age at the time (seemed old to me back then) and it wasn’t an artist I heard anyone else follow. But she loved him and still does over 20 years later.
