Here are 5 delicious & easy to make Gin Cocktails.
We’re going to be making The Gin Gimlet, Harry Craddock’s White Lady, an Eastside (a Southside variation), the iconic Tom Collins and finally, the Jabberwocky - my favourite right now.

Bomba Bar (where I work) - bombabar.com.au/
- / bombabar
1) To make our Easy Gin Gimlet, the ingredients you’ll need are:
60ml London Dry gin
20ml lime
20ml sugar
Barspoon lime marmalade
Dehydrated lime wheel garnish (optional)
As with most juice based cocktails this is a shaken drink, so you along with your Jigger you will need a
Shaking tin
Hawthorn strainer
Fine strainer
And a chilled Coupe glass
Add all ingredients to shaker tins, add ice, shake hard, double strain in to coupe and garnish.
2) The White Lady cocktail original recipe requires these ingredients
50ml London Dry gin
20ml triple sec or Curacao
20ml lemon juice
10ml sugar syrup
10ml egg white (optional)
Garnish
As with the Gin Gimlet, this is a shaken drink so you will need a
Jigger
Shaking tin
Hawthorn strainer
Fine strainer
Coupe glass
Add all ingredients to shaker tins, dry shake first without ice so you get a nice foam, add your ice, shake hard, double strain in to coupe to get rid of any small ice ships that might ruin the foam and garnish.
3) The ingredients for this easy Eastside cocktail are:
60ml gin
30ml freshly squeezed lime juice
15ml sugar
5 mint leaves
2 Cucumber strips
One to add to the tin & one rolled up to garnish (you can also garnish with a mint sprig)
Again, we are shaking this one so you will need
Jigger
Shaking tin
Hawthorn strainer
Fine strainer
Coupe glass
Add all ingredients to shaker tins, including one of your cucumber strips, add ice, shake hard, double strain in to coupe and garnish.
4) The classic Tom Collins recipe calls for
60ml gin
25ml lemon juice
15ml sugar
Soda water
Lemon twist and cherry
Unlike the previous drinks on this list the Tom Collins is built in the glass, so it really is one of the easiest Gin cocktail recipes you can make. All you need is a
Jigger
Highball glass
And a bar spoon (or your finger!).
Build all ingredients in glass, add plenty of ice, stir and garnish.
5) To make the Jabberwocky, you will need…
20ml gin
20ml manzanilla sherry
20ml Lillet Blanc
2 dashes orange bitters
Lemon twist garnish
Being a booze forward drink we'll be stirring this drink, so you'll need
Jigger
Mixing glass
Julep strainer
Coupe glass
And a bar spoon
Add all ingredients to mixing glass, add ice, stir, strain in to coupe glass, fold the garnish over the top of the drink and twist and add the garnish.
So now you know!

Whilst I'm not much of a gin drinker I do love a Gimlet. I always have lime cordial in the fridge, but that's a nifty trick with the marmalade, will try that . It was also a favourite of Crime Author Raymond Chandler, and I sometimes follow his very simple recipe of two jiggers of gin one of lime cordial, shake or stir with shaved ice and into a chilled glass. Done ! In the hottest of weather I sometimes put this into a highball glass and top with lime infused tonic water for what I call 'A Long Good Gimlet' after his novel 'The Long Goodbye'. it keeps me amused .

Hahaha I’ll never live this down! Josh (behind the camera) asked why I never use Hendricks. It’s a great gin but we focus on Aussie and Spanish at Bomba so don’t have it on the back bar, and I find that people who know and love Hendricks are usually happy to try something similar that fits in our theme. Josh sensed the possibility for some controversy and popped that in there 🙈

A London dry basil martini. Fresh and herbal and delightful for all the senses. Handful of Genovese basil in the bottom of a Shaker, muddle until macerated, 1/2 oz good dry vermouth such as Noilly Prat, 2 oz of a London dry or similar style clean gin with a pronounce herbal yet not overwhelmingly Piney character. Shake and strain into glass. If you want it a little smoother just a few drops of olive juice ads that nice bit of brine.

Not so fond of cucumber in gin; reminds me of Hendricks. I like a take on a gimlet where fresh juniper berries are muddled in a Boston shaker before the other ingredients are added. This adds pretty green colour and reinforces the gin element. Your Jabberwocky cocktail is awesome - I had never made one before. Great work!

It's hard for me to say which one is my favorite. A Basil Smash is outstanding, as is a Gordon's Cup. I make many Tom Collins as well. First let me say "Hi" to you, because I'm new to this channel, but I've already seen dozens of your videos during a couple of days. As for gin based cocktails I've obviously tried a classic G&T, but the one that surprised me with its freshness was actually the one that was missing here. THE SOUTHSIDE you've shown seems to be having the most similar refreshing effect. But here's what I want to share - Gin Basil Smash. Here is the recipe for you all: 40 ml Gin 20 ml simple syrup A handful of basil leaves A Half of lemon PREPARATION: Put basil with half of lemon into the shaker and muddle gently. Next put syrup and gin, top up with ice and shake well. Strain into old fashioned glass filled with ice and serve. So now you know ;-) (I've already fallen in love with this hook line at the end of your every recipe, a great signature line :) ). I'm also subscribed to a channel made by a Polish (like me) bartender and he says at the end of his recipes something like: "Have fun, experiment, contrive, but remember - don't overdo it!" :D

@BehindtheBar
@BehindtheBar 4 жыл бұрын
Of course if you have that to hand and find it easier then go for it! Lime cordial just has a lot of fruit concentrate and flavours, artificial preservatives etc whereas decent lime marmalade is basically just lime and sugar. I like having the fresh lime juice in there still and just a tiny tangy sweetness from the marmalade- I find cordial overwhelms the other ingredients 😊

Just discovered your videos Cara. Good stuff! I brought home a bottle of Kangaroo Island Mulberry Gin on my last visit to Oz. Do you have any cocktail suggestions to make with this spirit?
@BehindtheBar
@BehindtheBar 3 жыл бұрын
Ooh I haven’t tried their Mulberry but really like everything else of theirs I’ve tried! I’d probably just put a fruity twist on a Tom Collins, or try it in a Clover Club 😊

@@BehindtheBar thank you for the suggestion. I tried it at a Taste of Australia event in Adelaide. It was so delicious I had to bring some home 😀

Trying to see how you fill the bar shaker and get it into position. Is there a vid on this? Thank you!

Hey Shawni! There’s not a video on it specifically but if you go through an earlier video like the Margarita I do explain it in a bit more details 😊: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6DZp5elqJWLiKM

What's your take on using Fee Foam in place of egg whites?
@BehindtheBar
@BehindtheBar 3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t honestly used Fee Foam in particular but Instafoam has always worked well when I’ve used it. I found this a good article: punchdrink.com/articles/better-froth-cocktail-vegan-aquafaba-fee-brothers-foam/

Unfortunately most of it is op shops/vintage shops. Rona make some really nice ones as well, or just check out hospitality suppliers - they usually sell to the public too 😊

what's wrong with classic gin gimlet with fresh lime juice + sugar?
@BehindtheBar
@BehindtheBar 4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but the classic recipe is with lime cordial (Rose’s specifically). So the lime marmalade brings some of that candied sweetness to the fresher variation you’re talking about. If you’re happy without then you do you!
