I really enjoyed the contest - got my first transatlantic contacts ... and many of the stations you listed I recognised. Not for everyone but, with a compromised set up, it's a good way to get contacts that would often not be possible

Can the antenna be used without the slide winder coil ? if so is it for 10m looking for something to take to work and do some DX on lunch break . I also have the slide winder coil

Yes as stated at the start it works very well as a straight 1/4 wave for 10m

Sorry tim, normally watch all your videos, but contests, uck. Completely destroyed all my skeds cw and ssb. Complete uncontrolled madness. Even being told to get off the air or give up the hobby if i dont like tests, by people who rarely use the hobby otherwise. 40m here best band to uk this week. Cheers mate.

Setup works well Tim. I did wonder how the slidewinder would work with a simple length of wire as the antenna i.e sent up a mast for sota work and support slidewinder at the base?
