90's Champ Cars are pretty similar to modern F1 cars, long open wheel prototypes with limited aerodynamic not meant to be agile. I still don't know why I like old CARTs aesthetics waaay more than modern F1.

Because they looked extremely appealing to the eye. Personally,my favourites are the fat turno cars from the mid 80's. I know it's for safety,but I can't really get over the HALO. On the other hand,Indycar did a great job with the Aeroscreen,the cars look good with them.

@@alvmusic4402 IndyCar nowadays is damn good. Arguably the best series out there right now. Other series have issues with their cars or how their series is run, but IndyCar has somehow stayed the course thorough it all.

Those old ChampCars looked amazing too. I'm glad the new IndyCars took a page out of CART's book.
@alvmusic44025 жыл бұрын
@@trackmaniaracing8163 Have to agree as a lifelong F1 follower. What makes F1 so flawed in comparison is that due to the nature of its game, it's very difficult AND expensive for a constructor to "overtake" another constructor in terms of producing a better car, and even within the same team there's a clear top driver and a wingman. So you'll have very long spans of the same driver and car being champions, the same two teams running up, and nobody else in the field standing a chance - while most of the profit goes to the top teams. Most of the times, you don't even need to watch the races because everything will be the same in the end. As a way for European brands to prove their power, perhaps it works- but Indycar is more well designed as a sport competition.
@trackmaniaracing81635 жыл бұрын
@@alvmusic4402 Agreed. F1 has several flaws that hinder it. The sport definitely needs some serious re-structuring if it's going to continue as the pinnacle of motorsport.

March cars of the 80s were nice but damn - the Lolas, Penskes and Reynard Chassis of early 90s are the shit. Probably the best looking era for F1 too - but these indycars are not outdone by cars like the Jordan 191 and FW14b for looks IMO. In fact I'd go as far to say the PC-22 with high downforce wings might be the best looking race car i've ever seen

The American version of open wheel. Big, powerful machines built to win the 500. Almost awkward on street and road courses (many in wrong hands) they complimented the F1 super tech railed cars. Both were enjoyable. Now, Indy cars are mere shells- embarrassing cars really. RIP real Indy cars 1997.

I wonder if there even exists enough material to create a compilation like this but with F1 battles instead, leave alone making as many comps as you can find on this channel. Feels like f1 (both new and old) doesn't have nearly as many battles, most of the races you don't even get one, and if you do then it's no longer than 5 seconds and you already know the outcome. I love both racing series but I wish F1 would "drink" a little bit more from Indycar so at least we have two amazing shows. It feels much more of a driver's sport and not so much of a political shitshow
