I went to NYC for the semi-finals and the final at the US Open 2018. I am so glad I convinced my friends to choose a jazz club over a comedy club. We ended up going to Mezzrow Jazz Club first and it was awesome, plus we could use the same ticket to enter the Smalls Jazz Club after the set. We saw Philip Harper and the band at Smalls. Everyone in my group was just so amazed of the live performance. What a great first time NY jazz club experience. Thanks for the memories.

I am 24 years old and the truth is that since long before I have been fascinated by jazz, it is a musical style so rich auditory and so cheerful that motivates me emotionally, I do not change it for any other style of music that you hear today and that I have a hard time calling it "music" .
@PLAYaudioTheSmoothJazzChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interesting comment, Augustina. You are right: Jazz is a very rich music style!

yes, what sounds today is not music. it is just noise. take sonny rollins input of what music is. or just take them for how they sound, and it is just bad music, bad frequencies, dont inspire anything. it is music to dumb down. Jazz lifts you up! and it ain't elevator music! hahhaa

A collection of nearly perfectly played classic jazz standards in the same style as they were originally immortalized: a brilliant marketing formula! No one here is trying to reinvent the wheel or to modernize a time tested model of 50s and 60s bop. Phil Harper has a mature and beautiful command of the Miles trumpet school of swing!
