We are required to have horns on our speeders and some are actual locomotive horns. We are not required to blow for crossings because our operating rules require us to give the right of way to highway traffic. We mostly use the horns to warn people or animals away from the tracks or to blow when people wave at us as we roll by. Great question. Thanks for watching.

The M9 was running very well. Typical Michigan weather, I'm afraid. Thanks.

Was just wondering why there are no horns on these speeders, to let people know, at these non-electrically protected crossings that something is coming down the rails... I know that they seem to have them on other rail ines I've been around. Kind Regards, A railfan of your railroad in Hamburg Michigan
