Audubon Great Lakes Conservation staff and partners from Great Lakes Piping Plover Recovery Effort, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources banded seven federally endangered Great Lakes Piping Plover chicks this morning in Green Bay, WI. Once banded, researchers can monitor and track individuals within the Great Lakes population over the course of their lifetime. Watch as three of the chicks are released to reunite with their watchful parents.
All birds were handled under banding permits and IACUC protocols.
