I just bought and fully insured a 1997 Bayliner 3788 under my State Farm home/auto umbrella for $821 a year, no restrictions as to where or when I can take it, (Bahamas was my specific question to them), and they didn't ask me if it was my first boat or my seventh. (Seventh). Also added personal goods coverage. No problem at all. They did require a valuation survey. My agent said State Farm was the biggest boat insurer in the nation. Good luck!

What is the size that you can get a First Boat, Insured?

I would suggested reaching out to a marine insurance expert with your specific details. It can vary a bit, but I believe it's often near 30' or so.
