Vortex is immediately beaten by splitting your units at all.. Euro zergs have already started countering this by not keeping their units bunched up together. What a surprise, the Vortex's power was dependent on the other player playing terribly, and a lot of people complained about it being overpowered. I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.

+Mason Bliss Mother ship used to have a vortex ability that sucked everything near it into it, when the units come out they are clumped up. Archons have AOE damage (area of effect) so if you flush them down the vortex with the enemy army (that is why it is called archon toilet) you can kill the enemy army almost instantly because archons just do an extreme amount of damage. Voidrays also east battle cruisers if they are not in the masses, so with the vortex the protoss player separated them and let the void rays finish off the escaping battle cruisers.

+Mason Bliss They fixed the vortex ability backin the Wings of Liberty days. Units that leave the Vortex were immune to damage for a short amount of time. Idk if the ability is still in LotV.

I also don't like how today's sc2 is all about defending and surviving against terran. I have never played terran so maybe I sound stupid but I really don't like how "easy" terran bio unit handling seems. Imagine if you actually had to aim ghost snipes, or if medivacs had lower hp and there was an actual risk of losing half your units on each drop... so you can't just blindly drop 2 medivacs full of units in the middle of a fight or risk losing them to turrets... you know somewhat evening out the attention and micro you have to do for a drop vs the mico and attention you need to defend against a drop. I imagine this would also make other play styles more attractive.

In this case, about 20 battlecruisers was inside the vortex. Let's say the archon damage is about 25, it means that in the moment the vortex is released, each archon will do 5000dmg per attack. The reason this moment was epic is due to the fact that its very hard to get so many battlecruisers inside one vortex in pro-level games. It was actually a huge mistake by Mvp, as he forgot to split the units.

Well, to put it simple, the archons (The blue balls) attacks has splash damage, so if you group too many units in the same spot, each archon will do tons of damage. The vortex makes all units in an area disappear for a few seconds, and then every unit is released at the same time in the same place. So, if you throw lots of archons in the vortex, when they are released, each archon will do damage to every unit that was inside the vortex.

i dunno wtf was up with MVP. You could just A-move to victory with that huge number of battlecruisers. It's freaking easy to split bcs and avoid huge splash from archons, not to mention almost 1/2 of Squirtle's army was trapped, mothership dead and void rays weren't existent. He freaking decided to become cute and make nukes and just gave the protoss time to remake Mothership and charge energy for vortex and enough time to make enough void rays. Good for the Protoss player for not giving up, but lets be honest the Terran player lost this game. This is a perfect example of one player losing the game instead of the other player winning it if you know what I mean. Why the Terran player didn't push when he had the vastly superior army I will never know, but if he had pushed when he should have instead of just pussy footing around he would have won decisively.

It was cool, but Tastosis hyped it up a bit too much. It certainly wasn't an Archon toilet - it was a vortex with a bunch of units nearby, waiting for the BCs to pop. If anything, you'd call it a Templar Toilet, given that Psi Storm seemed to do the most damage after the pop. Also, I saw a few comments here, but toilets have been done in various iterations over the course of SC2. In particular, in team games you can throw Zerg and Terran AoE damage into the mix - I've seen Baneling and Nuclear Toilets myself, and in particular I find the Nuclear Toilet quite impressive due to the timing involved.

You're defining the toilet as the unit that goes into the toilet. I disagree with that - while you couldn't split the difference between a Baneling toilet or Archon toilet as both those units need to be in virtually-melee range to deal their damage (and thus go into the toilet), a Ghost/Nuke toilet is named as such due to the AoE damage that is dealt to the units. As such, the name is based on the AoE damage/unit, not the units entering the toilet. In this case, there were barely any archons at all (from memory, and I'm not watching it again), and while I love a genuine Archon toilet, this was underwhelming at *best*.

Mikanoes I think your friend might have been Psychopathic going by your description rather than sociopathic. A Psychopath would be eager to kill or mutilate his dog. To destroy it on some level. A Sociopath would have had that dog for all his life and seen no (or little) difference between killing it and stepping on and ant. Or killing a friend. Because the emotion of attachment would be a mystery to a sociopath, or other emotions might be. That's why its not typically easy to diagnose sociopaths, there's such variety.

It's too bad you never see Battlecruisers in pro games anymore. They need a buff. I always thought they should be able to carry troops like medivacs do, or at least make them more viable in some way so that late game Terran stands a chance against late game Zergs and Protoss. Carriers are useless. They becoming a problem, when there is a huge amount of them, but they are very slow in production. 3 or 4 battlecruisers wount deal so massive damageand can be easy eliminated by vikings, void rays or corruptors. But now tempest and oracle will make protoss OP =)

best unit for Terran vs best unit for Protoss = Protoss win... and I think this is fine, because I think that MVP lose time, mothership needs time to build :/ MVP can win (imo) in that period of time
