One of my many replays for content I came across this different version of the wall hole encounter!! Freaky!

To be fair, GOO patrons are familiar with elder brains. Ensuring you remain THEIRS is something that they probably desire.

Great Old Ones don't even typically strike bargains with their warlocks. The rulebook states that it is usually either unaware of your presence or indifferent to you; you've just gained their power by learning some of their secrets. So if your patron is actually _aware_ of you? If it actually _notices?_ If it's looking through you? Holy shit, change classes now before it's too late.

@@snakeman830 Not really. in like 99% of cases if you are a GOO Pact Warlock, your Patron doesn't even know you exist. Which is good. A Great old One taking notice of you, let alone special interest, is among the worst things that can happen to you

@@Minoze I dip into 1 level of rogue to cover the face proficiency I can't get then the astral tadpole can give you expertise in persuasion, deception and intimidation. At the cost of having ugly lines on your face but I've desensitized to them now and just see it as like my character was crying and their mascara got ruined. They don't look soooo bad that you will never get used to it in exchange for awesome abilities

I know of one other like this: if you have a Fae patron then they will get excited for, and push you towards entering, the circus in rivington. There's enough otherworldly and fae magic there that your patron just goes "yoooooo go have fun over there it'll be awesome"

There should be more patron interactions like that considering the heavy demonic, fey and eldritch presence throught the game. Like Ethel's turf in act 1, that was a fey paradise

I'm only toward the end of act1 currently, but there's not as many patron-specific dialogs as I had hoped for when I picked GOO Warlock. There's plenty of general Warlock ones though; you get a few neat options chatting with Wyll.

Wow, I had this on my first playthrough and didnt realise until now that it was an event not only exclusive to my class, but to my subclass aswell. The level of detail in this game is crazy. Makes me wonder what the other warlock subclasses would have given me.

@@tordugstube I can confirm it’s not because I’ve experienced this exact cutscene playing other classes Larian (understandably, considering the sheer amount of content already in the game) didn’t really go through the extra effort of crafting class-specific scenes

It wasnt a nat 20 it was a mod 20, 13 + 7. If it were a nat it would have said critical success instead of just success.

I replayed the scene about 3 times to get the sound right for recording, it was a 20 each time. I am pretty sure it was a scripted thing to reinforce the use of my patron's power, but only Larian knows for sure! Also worth mentioning I received a dislocated shoulder until my next long rest afterwards.

Kinda disappointing at the end, when the emperor, which in my play through is female, turned to a male voice then didn't voice the last sentence at all, otherwise, very cool!

My first play through my 3 companions were not partied. I was setting up an ambush and sneaking around up in the rafters. I got pulled in and had to find/fight my way out solo. Was one of those unexpected enjoyable twists the game throws at you. Loved it! (I’m cursed to put my hands on everything)

It would have been a really cool touch if at the end of the dialogue with the Absolute the GOO tries to take control/kill the Absolute through you. Then in that scenario instead of your character having to pass a check to get free of the tentacle your character is immediately released by the Absolute to save itself from being taken over.
