excellent video. The GX460 is awesome offroad. Ours is stock height too. Once you cut the low hanging plastic off you're good to go! Again great job

We actually have the 2” lift from IronMan4x4. All we’ve done so far is pull the speed flaps off the bumper. Next is to viper cut

Which bullbar are you planning on going with?

@@CruisinMiles I have no idea, some of them dont look like they have enough coverage or connect to the frame to be of any actual use and others Id have to replace the entire bumper. Still looking and researching a happy medium. I do plan on replacing the bumper with Iron man and plating the bottom but not yet.

Which years are best for a build , not rock crawling , don’t care for leather but I guess they all have it. I want the simple way . Help.
@CruisinMiles7 ай бұрын
I prefer the 2010-2013 years because their front ends already have more clearance. 2014+ have less approach angle. A viper cut will help, but the 2010-2013 have even more clearance. But if you’re going to go with an aftermarket bumper. It won’t matter too much

Great video. What size tires are you running? I am asking this because I want to understand what size tire you are fitting in the spare tire location underneath the car. Thanks!

We’re only running 275/75/17 Not too much bigger than stock, and apparently it will fit in the stock location but we currently don’t have the same size spare under there

Very informative, thank you, i always wondered about fuel with a V8 off road How do you do for fuel? Additional tank, Jerry cans?
@CruisinMiles2 жыл бұрын
Well, it’s not so much the fact it’s a v8, it’s more of the technology that’s applied. More modern v8 designs have better mpg. Toyota uses older technologies because of they’re proven reliability. So in short, gas mileage is rather poor. I mean, on freeway driving we are getting 12mph average. Exactly why mpg wasn’t a category I was prioritizing. As for extra fuel, fuel pax for our needs. With the type of off-roading/Overlanding we do, fuelpax are more than enough. And it’s my belief that Jerry cans/Rotopax/fuelpax are more than enough for 90% of the offroad/overland community here in the US. I think an extended range tank or auxiliary tank is definitely a monumental upgrade, but upgrades like those are definitely suited for those who spend weeks or maybe months offroad or even off-the-grid. With that said, as a self proclaimed Prepper, I’d definitely love to invest in an extended range tank combined with Jerry cans. But that’s a whole other subject lol.

How are you getting 12 mpg on the freeway on an almost stock configuration? My GX470 with a slight lift on 32" KO2 plus full under body skids get 16.x mpg on the freeway and my LX570 on 33" Baja Boss AT also get 16.x mpg on the freeway. Your GX460 has one extra gear and 30+ HP bump from the VVT-i GX470. The LX is way heavier than either the GX470/460 with an empty stock weight at 6000#. I do not carry anything on the roof rack anymore. Previously I had a CVT RTT on my custom low profile full length roof rack and it dropped my GX470 freeway mpg to 13mpg. Might consider mounting the roof items to a hitch carrier or inside the vehicle.
